Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are expanding their family once again. The “Diamonds” crooner surprised fans when she unveiled her baby bump at the 2025 Met Gala red carpet.

This joyful news comes three years after the birth of the couple’s first son, RZA, in May 2022 and just over a year since welcoming their second son, Riot Rose, in August 2023.

The big reveal has since sparked a wave of reactions online, with many fans eager to know why the musicians are having kids back-to-back.

Rihanna has a history of making high-profile pregnancy announcements.

In 2023, the Fenty Mogul made headlines when she debuted her second baby bump at the Super Bowl Halftime show. On May 5, Rihanna left fans talking again when she unveiled her third pregnancy.

The icon was the last to grace the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City, but her late arrival was worth the wait. She stunned in a custom Marc Jacobs ensemble.

Rihanna’s look featured a tailored black pinstripe skirt with a bustle, a cropped wool jacket, a bustier bodysuit accentuating her baby bump, and a satin polka-dot cravat.

Topping off the ensemble was a statement wide-brimmed hat designed in collaboration with legendary milliner Stephen Jones. She completed the look with ankle chain pumps, oozing sophistication and power while proudly displaying her growing baby bump.

Since unveiling her third pregnancy, social media has been abuzz with reactions. Many have shared their thoughts on the couple’s decision to have kids back-to-back.

Recently, an insider spoke to PEOPLE Magazine about why Rihanna and A$AP Rocky have kids who are close in age. The source first noted that the couple was thrilled to be growing their family.

“Rihanna has always wanted a big family, so she couldn’t be more excited. Rihanna and Rocky are thrilled to be growing their family, and they can’t wait to give their boys another sibling,” the source said.

They also revealed the couple wanted kids close in age so that they could grow up together.

“They wanted to have their children close together in age so that they could grow up together and share a close bond. They feel so blessed and are grateful for this next chapter in their lives. It’s a very special time,” the insider explained.

The big news comes nearly three months after Rihanna’s partner was acquitted in his trial. On February 18, 2025, a jury found the rapper not guilty of two felony assault charges stemming from a 2021 incident involving former friend Terell Ephron (A$AP Relli).

Ephron had accused Rocky of firing a semi-automatic handgun at him during a confrontation, leaving him with a graze wound. The case led to A$AP Rocky’s arrest in April 2022 after returning from Barbados with Rihanna.

During the trial, Rocky’s legal team argued he had used a prop gun with blanks taken from a music video set and claimed he acted in self-defence.

The jury deliberated for just three hours before concluding that the prosecution failed to prove its case beyond a reasonable doubt. A visibly emotional Rocky thanked the jury, calling the decision life-saving.

The rapper had previously turned down a plea deal that would have resulted in a six-month sentence, instead risking over 20 years in prison.

Since the trial ended, the power couple has been keen on spending more time together as a family.

Speaking to PEOPLE Magazine, an insider revealed that Rihanna and her man had had time to “decompress and just focus on family time.”

“Rihanna’s a great mom. She loves playing with kids. Rocky’s such a playful dad, too. They were hoping for another baby,” the source said.
