Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly did not watch King Charles‘ recent public address, reflecting the ongoing distance between them and the royal family.

Communication between the duke and his father remains limited, with no recent meetings despite the monarch’s visit to the US. His relationship with Prince William is also described as strained.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continue their independent work outside the royal family, balancing charitable efforts with private ventures.

Sources claim there was no livestream, no replay, and no private viewing of King Charles’ US speech for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, signaling what some describe as an increasingly complete emotional and physical separation from royal life.

According to a report, one insider said the decision highlights how far the relationship has shifted, suggesting that what was once “unthinkable” has now become routine distance.

Harry is said to have had no direct contact with Charles during his recent time in the United States, with no planned meeting despite the monarch’s highly anticipated visit.

“There is no relationship right now,” a source claimed. “No calls. No messages. No outreach. No backchannel. It has gone completely cold.”

The Duke And Duchess’s Trip To Australia Has Worsened The Rift: ‘They Do Not Need The Palace’

According to sources who spoke to journalist Rob Shuter’s #ShuterScoop, Harry and Meghan’s controversial but successful Aussie tour shattered whatever progress they had made in mending the royal rift.

The couple made a splash in Australia, taking part in high-profile engagements, while leading ticketed events, such as the duke’s InterEdge Psychosocial Safety Summit and the duchess’s women’s retreat.

“That trip was the final break,” an insider noted. “The palace saw it as confirmation [that] they are fully out. Harry and Meghan saw it as proof they no longer need the institution.”

Sources claim the Montecito-based royals no longer think they need King Charles’ permission or approval from the monarchy to carry out their plans.

“They are done looking back,” a source alleged, adding that Harry and Meghan feel they do not “need Charles. They do not need the palace. They do not need permission. They’ve moved on.”

Royal Rift Described As ‘Standoff’ As Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Continue Independent Path

According to People Magazine, some observers say the situation has reached a standstill, with royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith describing it as a “standoff” with no clear path forward.

At the same time, Harry and Meghan continue to shape a different kind of public role, balancing charitable efforts with independent, revenue-generating work.

Their recent tour of Australia, which included hospital visits and commemorative events, echoed traditional royal duties while highlighting the hybrid path they now follow outside the institution.

However, critics within royal circles argue that this approach could further strain relationships. Ailsa Anderson, who previously served Queen Elizabeth II, suggested it “won’t help Harry’s case or promote good relations.”

However, those close to the couple reject that view, emphasizing that they are “not reliant on Harry’s father or taxpayer-funded money.” The insider added, “They pay their own bills and make their own money while continuing to support a lot of causes that might otherwise go unseen. It enables them to do what they love.”

King Charles Faces Scrutiny Over Decision Not To Meet Prince Harry During US Visit

Meanwhile, Charles III’s decision not to include a reunion with Harry during his US visit has drawn increased scrutiny, with insiders pointing to timing and optics as key reasons.

According to royal commentator John McDermott, a meeting between father and son could have shifted attention away from the purpose of the trip. He told USA Today that such a moment would likely dominate headlines, overshadowing the focus of the visit.

Charles, alongside Queen Camilla, is said to be prioritizing diplomatic goals, particularly reinforcing UK–US relations during the 250th anniversary of American independence, without introducing “competing narratives.”

Some sources also believe Harry and Meghan’s recent activities may have complicated matters further.

Their high-profile tour of Australia, which mirrored aspects of official royal engagements, was reportedly not well received in palace circles and may have contributed to hesitation around arranging a reunion.

During a recent visit to Ukraine, Harry pushed back against being described as a “non-working royal,” insisting he still sees himself as actively serving a purpose.

“I will always be part of the royal family,” he said, adding that he continues to focus on the work he “was born” to do.

Behind the scenes, those close to Harry and Meghan describe a strong and aligned partnership when it comes to navigating royal family dynamics.

Sources told People Meghan “lets him lead on all royal matters, but it would never put them at odds — they’re on the same team.”

Another insider noted that the situation remains deeply emotional, though both are approaching it with realism rather than urgency.

According to the source, any progress toward reconciliation is expected to come gradually, with Meghan remaining supportive as Harry continues to process and prioritize what matters most to him.
