Whoopi Goldberg‘s future on “The View” is once again under the spotlight as speculation about her removal continues to swirl.

For nearly twenty years, Goldberg has been a central figure at ABC’s long-running daytime show, weathering countless battles, from fiery clashes with Republican co-hosts to backlashes over controversial remarks.

Now, with the show nearing its 30th season and talks about it being Goldberg’s last, sources reveal ongoing “efforts” to push Goldberg out.

Insiders say the persistent pressure to get Goldberg off the ABC long-running daytime show may not be coming from within the show at all. Instead, the negative stories are likely being told by allies of Donald Trump and other Republicans who don’t like the show or its hosts.

The swirling rumors of tension are being deliberately fueled to create drama, controversy, and force producers into making changes.

“Many believe that a continued effort is being made to put negative news out there to get a reaction and also for them to materialize it to become true,” the source told the Daily Mail.

Suspicions grew when Elisabeth Hasselbeck briefly returned as a guest, with claims that it was to “push” Goldberg out. Some claimed it might be a “test” or a warning to Goldberg and Joy Behar that no one’s position is permanent.

However, despite the talks, the insider insisted that producers remain committed to the current lineup, which includes Goldberg, Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, and Alyssa Farah Griffin.

Goldberg’s fate at the round table has since been a debate that intensified following one tense moment she jabbed at Donald Trump last November.

As The Blast reported, during the segment, she joked about the president using an autopen, prompting producers to send her a note asking for clarification.

Visibly annoyed, Goldberg read the note aloud, tore it up, and exclaimed: “It was a joke!” The moment sparked outrage online, with calls for her firing. However, insiders clarified her position was safe, noting her value to the show and her history of following producer direction.

Goldberg Slammed For Comparing Being Black In America To People Living In Iran

The EGOT winner has also drawn heat for provocative opinions. One such time was when she claimed the living conditions in the U.S were the same as those in Iran under Ali Khamenei.

Per The Blast, the 70-year-old pointed to past and present injustices against marginalized communities, saying the U.S. has a record of brutality toward Black people and LGBTQ+ individuals.

Griffin rejected the comparison outright, stressing that Iran operates under a strict authoritarian system where women face severe, state-enforced restrictions.

While Goldberg maintained that violence against marginalized groups in the U.S. must be addressed, Griffin pushed back, insisting the two situations are not comparable.

Goldberg doubled down, adding, “Not if you’re Black,” a remark that quickly ignited backlash online.

Critics accused Goldberg of being out of touch, arguing that equating the experiences of present-time Americans to those living under Iran’s regime downplayed the severity of human rights abuses there.

Amid earning repeated backlash for her outspoken takes, Goldberg previously reflected on her actions and admitted she may have done some while drunk.

Her confession was influenced by a discussion about Graham Platner’s skull tattoo, which he got after a night of drinking in 2007. Per The Blast, when Behar referenced Mel Gibson’s words about saying the truth when drunk, Goldberg admitted that for her, it was “strange stuff” coming out of her mouth.

She added that although those days are long gone, she preferred to own up to her past herself rather than have others bring it up.

Goldberg has also not shied from addressing the rumors surrounding her, including why she was name-dropped in one of Jeffrey Epstein’s correspondences.

According to The Blast, the “Ghost” star explained that her name came up solely in connection with a request to arrange a private flight for her to attend a charity event hosted by Julian Lennon’s White Feather Foundation.

The request was ultimately declined, as co-host Hostin pointed out during the discussion. Behar then asked if anyone could be on such lists, prompting Goldberg to clarify that being mentioned did not mean she had a relationship with the disgraced financier.
