Ryan Anderson is still in the thick of public scrutiny following his divorce from Gypsy Rose Blanchard, and during his recent appearance on “The Sarah Fraser Show,” he didn’t hold back when discussing what he believes the internet is really after. The conversation included a bigger question hanging over the controversy: after years of nonstop commentary, what do people actually want from Gypsy Rose now?

Ryan Anderson Questions The Internet’s ‘End Game’ With Gypsy Rose Blanchard

“The internet [is] really calling for Gypsy to be held accountable, and [in] some further ways,” Sarah Fraser said, adding that “people really want her exposed.”

Ryan, however, seemed confused by the intensity of the demand and what exactly people expect to gain from it. “[I don’t know] what people want? They want her to be like a vigilante, take her out?” he asked. “That’s my thing is, they want her to admit and come out and say, ‘I did it all,’ but what’s gonna happen?” Ryan continued, questioning what the “end game” would even be.

Anderson Says He Understands Why He’s Still Being Asked About Gypsy

Ryan also addressed the backlash he gets for speaking about Gypsy at all, especially during TikTok Lives, insisting he’s not the one constantly bringing her up. “You know, people say I talk about her all the time on my lives. I try not to. People bring her up and I answer questions,” he said. “You know what I mean? Like, I try to talk about my life, but I can always talk about my experiences because I was in the show. I was a main part of it. I was married to her. I was with her five years.”

He also pushed back against the idea that he should stay silent about what he lived through. “You know, I lived it. You know what I mean? I had that relationship with her,” he said. “So I can’t talk about my experience at all?”

At the same time, Ryan acknowledged the reality of why people know his name in the first place. “I was in a show called ‘Gypsy Rose Life After Lockup.’ Like I would not be known if I weren’t for my relationship with my ex-wife. I understand that.” Still, he made it clear he wants to be seen as more than a footnote in her story. “But there’s more to me than just that and I think people want to know more about me, and I try,” he said.

Ryan Anderson Says There’s No Winning

Ryan also described what he sees as a lose-lose situation whenever the topic comes up online.

“And then people ask me something about Gypsy and I’ll answer it and then people will be like, ‘you’re still obsessed. Why can’t you move on?’” he said. “I’m just like ‘What do you want? You’re damned if you do, damned if you don’t.”

    Anderson Shuts Down Role-Play Rumors

One of the most discussed pieces of internet speculation about Ryan and Gypsy has been the alleged roleplay, given what the public knows about her previous relationship with Nicholas Godejohn, and Ryan addressed that head-on. “So you did not have the role-playing and all?” the host asked, to which Ryan replied clearly, “We didn’t do any role-playing. Let me just go ahead and say that.”

He also stressed that the “wig” storyline didn’t apply to their relationship the way it did to Gypsy’s past. “She wore wigs, but she had so many different wigs, and each wig represents a different character. That’s what Nick was into. That’s what she was into at the time,” Ryan said. “I never had that. I just wanted the real Gypsy. And that was enough for me.”

Ryan Anderson Explains The ‘Mama Gypsy’ Joke And Says People Took It Out Of Context

Ryan also explained the “Mama Gypsy” nickname after it became a point of online fixation. According to Ryan, the phrase started as an inside joke tied to parenting conversations about his nephew. “She knew that I helped my mother raise my nephew,” he explained, adding that Gypsy would offer advice about situations at home. “She would say, ‘Well, you got to do this, and teach Noah about, you know, she’d be like, have that talk with him,'” Ryan said.

He recalled responding to Gypsy’s input with a joking tone, “I said, okay, ‘Mama Gypsy,’ why don’t you just calm down a little bit? I don’t really need your input, but I appreciate you trying to be a mama.”

Ryan made it clear he believes the internet twisted it into something it wasn’t. “And so that’s how the mama Gypsy thing came to be,” he said. “You know, people are trying to read into certain things and take them out of context. They take everything out of context, and they run with it.”
