While it wasn’t the scintillating performance he gave against the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship Game, Sam Darnold did everything he needed to against the New England Patriots to become a Super Bowl champion.

Despite winning 28 regular season games over the past two seasons, the eight-year veteran hadn’t won a playoff game entering the 2025 campaign. This season he won three postseason contests, combining for 672 yards and five touchdowns without an interception or fumble.

Against the Patriots, he completed just 19-of-38 passes for 202 yards and a touchdown, doing just enough to lift the Lombardi Trophy at Levi’s Stadium. Playing for his fifth team in his eight seasons, Darnold said he took inspiration from one of the world’s best golfers when facing adversity.

“This game is amazing, and it’s brought me a lot. But there’s more. It reminds me of what Scottie Scheffler said last year, there’s more to life than football,” he said.

“I think having that understanding helps me get through the tough times, and it also allows me to stay grounded when things are going well.”

Which brings us to today’s quiz. How many of the starting quarterbacks to win the Super Bowl can you name in seven minutes?

    Good luck!
