Meghan Trainor left fans stunned after making a sudden announcement that changes her entire summer schedule.

Just months after welcoming her baby girl, the singer revealed she would no longer be hitting the road as planned.

While the tour had already generated excitement across North America, Trainor made it clear that stepping back was not an easy choice, but one she felt was necessary as she navigates life as a growing family of five.

Meghan Trainor surprised fans when she confirmed that her highly anticipated Get in Girl Tour would no longer go ahead as scheduled.

The shows were set to begin in June and run through mid-August, covering more than 30 venues across North America, but those plans have now been scrapped.

Explaining her decision in an Instagram Stories post shared on Thursday, the 32-year-old noted that it came “after a lot of reflection and some really tough conversations.”

The “Made You Look” singer admitted that juggling multiple responsibilities at once became overwhelming, especially with a new album rollout, tour rehearsals, and a newborn at home.

“Balancing the release of a new album, preparing for a nationwide tour, and welcoming our new baby girl to our growing family of five has just been more than I can take on right now, and I need to be home and present for each and all of them at this time,” Trainor continued.

The timing of the cancellation comes just three months after Meghan Trainor and her husband, Daryl Sabara, welcomed their daughter, Mikey Moon, via surrogate in January.

The couple is already parents to two young sons, making the adjustment to a larger family a major life shift.

Trainor acknowledged that her decision might disappoint fans, but emphasized that her family needed to come first during this period.

“I know this will come as a disappointment to my fans, and I am so sorry to let you down,” she said, before adding, “But I know this is the right decision for my family and me right now.”

Despite stepping away from touring, the star reassured supporters that this pause is temporary, writing, “I promise I’ll be back soon, and I can’t wait for you to hear this new record. I’m so proud of it and I’m endlessly grateful for your love and support always.”

Before the cancellation, Trainor had shared how much effort she was putting into preparing for the tour.

She told PEOPLE she would take dance lessons, adding, “I’m going to be very fit.”

The performer had also painted a vivid picture of what fans could expect from the shows, saying, “We’re going to be jumping, dancing. It’s going to be a party, but it’s a party for everyone, for kids, for adults, for grandparents. I love when I see grandparents in the crowd. I love when the dads sing every word. I go, ‘Yeah, Dad.’ It’s my favorite.”

Although the tour is no longer happening, Trainor’s music plans remain on track.

Her upcoming album, “Toy with Me,” is still set for release on April 24, marking her seventh studio project.

Shortly before the heartbreaking announcement, Meghan Trainor opened up about how marriage counseling transformed her relationship, saying the experience was so effective she had to recommend it to everyone.

In a chat with Us Weekly, the mom of three revealed, “I was in marriage counseling while doing this album,” explaining that therapy helped her and her husband Sabara reconnect during a challenging period.

She added, “We’re so good now that I recommend it to everyone,” crediting the sessions for improving their communication and overall happiness.

Trainor shared that raising young children had put a strain on their relationship, noting that “one through five, your marriage gets pushed to the side,” which led to tension and confusion.

However, counseling helped them realize, “Why are we fighting? We’re on the same team.” Now in a much better place, Trainor said therapy not only strengthened their bond but also gave them tools to navigate marriage and parenthood more effectively.

Besides her marriage, Trainor has also been candid about her decision to opt for surrogacy.

Recently, the Grammy Award winner opened up about the emotional and “heartbreaking” side of surrogacy.

As The Blast reported, she revealed that the decision to welcome her third child that way was far from easy.

“[We had] heartbreaking, big decision-making to do,” Trainor noted, explaining that ongoing health struggles pushed her and Sabara to consider surrogacy as the safest option.

She admitted that not carrying her baby herself was one of the hardest parts, saying she constantly worried, “Is she okay?” and added, “You go cuckoo, you go crazy,” describing the anxiety of knowing her child was “alive in someone else.”

She also revealed the emotional toll of public backlash, calling it “a cloud of tears every night of just worry.”

Despite those struggles, Trainor acknowledged the process had positives, noting she didn’t have to recover from a C-section, but emphasized that the experience came with “a lot of scary parts,” even as it ultimately proved to be the best decision for her family.
