However, her post came under scrutiny quickly, with animal rights organization, PETA, criticizing the decision and urging the family to consider shelter adoptions.

Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian also shared holiday photos with her kids and showcased a vintage Mugler gown while standing in front of Christmas trees.

PETA has criticized Kim Kardashian after she gifted each of her four children a Pomeranian puppy for Christmas, sparking backlash online.

The reality star, 45, introduced the dogs over the holiday, drawing sharp responses from animal welfare advocates and social media users alike.

In a statement obtained by the Daily Mail, Ingrid Newkirk, PETA’s founder, condemned the move, calling puppies “not plushies.”

She added that “it’s a damn shame that Kim missed the chance to be a spokesperson for shelter pups and instead is being rightly slammed on social media for that.”

The PETA Founder Told The Kardashians To Send Their Kids To Volunteer At Animal Shelters To ‘Make Amends’

Newkirk suggested that Kim and her sisters could “try to make some amends” by having their children “volunteer at a local shelter or[by] paying for a local shelter adopt-a-thon or at least one spay day to help stop the growing homeless puppy crisis.”

Kim shared a photo of the four dogs cuddled together on her couch, announcing, “Each kid got a puppy.”

Fans quickly criticized the decision, noting that pets should not be casual gifts and expressing concern about the responsibilities of caring for multiple animals.

Comments included warnings that giving each child a separate dog could undermine the bond between siblings and their pets.

This isn’t the first time Kim has faced scrutiny over her pets. She already owns two Pomeranians, Sushi and Sake, adopted with her sister Kourtney in 2017.

The family drew criticism in 2022 when North West shared a TikTok showing the dogs living in a garage, dressed in tiny coats.

The video featured the pets in a large pen with pee pads, alongside a mini Christmas tree and stockings.

Many fans felt this setup was inadequate and called out Kim for not providing a more suitable living space for the dogs.

Meanwhile, Khloe also expanded her pet family this Christmas, welcoming a Labrador named Peppermint for her daughters True and Tatum.

The gift carried emotional weight, as Khloe previously lost her beloved lab Gabbana in 2018. At the time, she described Gabbana as her “first child” and shared an emotional tribute, reflecting on the deep bond they shared over 14 years.

Kim Kardashian Struggles To Get The Perfect Holiday Family Shot In Cute Post

Kim shared her attempts at capturing a holiday photo with her four children, North, 12; Saint, 10; Chicago, 7; and Psalm, 6, highlighting just how tricky it can be to get everyone in frame.

Across six photos posted, different combinations of the kids appeared, but never all four together. In the one shot where they were all in the frame, North was stepping out, and Saint appeared blurry as he moved.

Kim captioned the post on December 22, “I really tried,” and included a video lip-syncing with North to Ken Carson’s “Thx.”

The photoshoot, set around her home and in front of one of her Christmas trees, featured North in a black denim outfit with turquoise hair, Saint in a white Carhartt denim ensemble, Chicago in a black feathered dress with boots and a denim jacket, and Psalm in army print pants with a plaid shirt.
