Jessica Simpson & Eric Johnson Reconciliation Mystery Deepens

Jessica Simpson‘s dad, Joe Simpson, is saying a lot without giving too much away!

The actress’ dad’s comments about the future of his daughter and Eric Johnson’s relationship amid their split have set off speculations about a possible recoupling.

Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson ended things earlier in the year after a decade together and three kids, blaming the split on trust issues and mutual mistakes.

Joe explained to interviewers during his appearance at the Giving A Smile Foundation Gala in Beverly Hills on Thursday night that the chances of his daughter and her ex getting back together have a lot more to do with them than him.

Joe added that as far as anybody knows, the future remains uncertain, and it may just hold a reunion in the cards for the former lovebirds. The older Simpson, however, confirmed that Eric is invited to join the family for their Christmas celebrations.

Jessica’s dad’s comments come on the heels of several public sightings of Eric and the actress in each other’s company, including a family trip to Carlsbad, California, in April.

The duo was also spotted cheering loudly for Ashlee Simpson at her Las Vegas show in August, and according to TMZ, Jessica and Eric also spent Thanksgiving with each other.

The Blast shared that the singer revealed that she took her kids to her mother’s house to celebrate Thanksgiving, and Eric was there in the spirit of co-parenting and giving their three kids a good time.

Jessica did not mince words when confirming that Eric was there in his capacity as the father of her three kids, and they also spent time with the grandparents. In her words, family is always first, and every rumor of discord remains false.

She added that Eric also attended one of her shows with the kids, who were pleased to see her face on a billboard. The actress also shared a statement of advice for people who are currently co-parenting or in the middle of a divorce.

“No matter what, your kid is half the other person, and always have respect for what you say around them, so they can always have a good perspective on it. Unconditional love is important,” the singer concluded.

The singer released a new single, “Leave,” which heralded her return to the music scene following her split from Eric. Reportedly tucked deep in the lines between the lyrics from the song were suggestions that another woman may have been involved in the union.

The actress claimed her estranged husband’s mind often wandered away during periods of intimacy, where he would be thinking about another woman. According to the lyrics, Jessica accused her ex of making their story, which began as a magical one, end tragically.

“Your weakness made me lonely/Unholy matrimony/Did you do to her what you did to me. Was she on her knees/She’s everything but me,” lines from the track read.

Jessica admitted that she felt humiliated by the infidelity, and if the shoe were on the other foot, Eric would not be able to handle things the way she did.

In November, The Blast stated that the former couple’s inability to reach an agreement over their kids may be the last straw that will break the camel’s back for their marriage. Recall that the exes reportedly began living apart with hopes to patch things up in their marriage.

Sources claimed that Jessica was hopeful that they could really fix things at the start, but now, her independence and freedom have become the two things she does not want to trade in.

Their latest issues seemingly stem from their intentions for their daughter, Maxwell, as regards her future ambitions. While Simpson would reportedly not mind Maxwell pursuing a career in Hollywood, Eric wants nothing to do with that life.

Eric reportedly wants his daughter to focus on studies and find an interest in sports, while Maxwell currently feels she can do both. The 13-year-old’s few trips to movie sets with her mother and her friendship with North West have reportedly deepened her desire to act.
