PGA rookie Jackson Koivun won his first tour event on Sunday, holding off Scottie Scheffler to win the 3M Open by three strokes.
Koivun shot 5-under in the final round to secure the win, and by doing so secured a rather historic win for himself and the tournament.
Jackson Koivun’s first PGA win comes in historic manner
With his 66, 5-under on Sunday, Koivun finished the tournament a whopping 25-under with a 259 total, setting a new tournament record.
His multiple-stroke win was also a historic, as he becomes the youngest American to win any PGA event by multiple strokes since 20-year-old Ralph Guldahl at the Arizona Open by five shots in 1932.
Koivun won the 3M Open at 21 years old.
