Brian Flores emerges as betting favorite to land this HC job

As expected, the Las Vegas Raiders have moved on from head coach Pete Carroll.

The legendary coach went one-and-done after going 3-14 in his first season in Sin City while reportedly not seeing eye to eye with several people in the building, including offensive coordinator Chip Kelly.

The Raiders have quite an appealing job opening. They have the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft and plenty of young talent to build around.

According to NFL insider Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, they might also have an edge to get Brian Flores as their new head coach.

Brian Flores is the favorite to take the reins of the Raiders

“The favorite to become the next head coach of the Raiders is Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores, at +175,” Florio wrote.

Florio was referencing odds from DraftKings.

Florio adds that Klint Kubiak, Robert Saleh, Mike McCarthy, Chris Shula, Todd Monken, Vance Joseph, Jeff Hafley, Jesse Minter, Bill Belichick and even Jon Gruden are also listed as potential candidates.

Flores already addressed his future with the Minnesota Vikings. While he praised the fans and the organization, he also admitted that there was a business side to this that he couldn’t control.

He’s one of the most respected defensive specialists in the game, and given his previous head coaching experience, he should be near the top of most teams’ wish lists.

And even though he’s still got a pending litigation case with the league, Raiders owner Mark Davis might have no choice but to look the other way to find the right guy to steer the ship in the right direction.
