Despite some concerning injuries, the Atlanta Braves have gotten off to a strong start to the season.

Notably, more help might be on the way pretty soon for Walt Weiss’ team, as star RHP Spencer Strider continues to take big steps toward making his season debut.

Strider, who’s currently on the 15-day injured list (IL) with an oblique injury, will make his first rehab assignment on Thursday. He’ll take the mound for 40-50 pitches with High-A Rome Emperors.

Spencer Strider inches closer to making his season debut

The 27-year-old All-Star has dealt with multiple injuries throughout the course of his career, so they’re likely going to err on the side of caution with him.
