Angelina Jolie didn’t get nominated for any awards at the 2025 Oscars, which will be held on March 2, and is now allegedly working to reshape her Hollywood image as a result.

According to previous reports, Jolie was disappointed after failing to receive a nomination for her portrayal of late opera singer Maria Callas in the latter’s biopic.

Following the snub, the actress is now networking to make new friends in Hollywood and is getting help from one of her close pals.

In times past, Jolie wasn’t always keen on socializing at public outings and usually kept to herself.

In her rise to become one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, Jolie limited her interactions with other celebrities and once claimed she did not have many famous friends.

Pitt became good friends with other actors, such as George Clooney and Leonardo DiCaprio, which seemingly helped him become more popular.

However, it appears Jolie has changed her ways and become more open to socializing with other celebrities if her recent outings are anything to go by.

At the Critics Choice Awards this weekend, she was spotted hugging and exchanging pleasantries with Demi Moore and Zoe Saldana, respectively. During the Golden Globes Awards, Jolie embraced Kate Winslet and Salma Hayek.

Jolie’s keenness to warm up to her colleagues in recent times is a move she has taken in a bid to “make new friends” in Hollywood.

An insider told the Daily Mail, “Angelina knows what she is doing, it’s on purpose. She is reaching out in the Hollywood community to make new friends. And she loves it! She likes making new female friends, and she has tremendous respect for her famous pals. It’s a good thing.”

According to the source, one of Jolie’s Hollywood besties, Salma Hayek, is helping her to become more sociable.

They said, “Salma is very smart, I would not be surprised if she was the one who told Angelina to get out there more and network and make friends.”

The insider added, “Salma is a mentor type, she helps a lot of her buddies. She really cares. And I know Angelina looks up to her. So I bet Salma encourages Angelina to show her warmer side.”

Angelina Jolie’s Reaction To Oscar Snub

Jolie did incredibly well in her portrayal of Maria Callas. She reportedly poured herself into the role by learning to sing opera and enduring an intense Hollywood press cycle to promote the movie.

Despite those efforts, she didn’t receive nominations from the Oscars or the Screen Actors Guild Awards, though she was nominated for Best Actress at the Golden Globes but didn’t win.

The insider shared that Jolie handled her Oscar snub like a “true professional.”

They said, “She is not sitting at him pouting, she is out there hitting every event and putting a smile on, that is very cool of her. She is a true professional.”

The insider’s revelations differ from that of another source who told Page Six that Jolie “will be devasted” by the snub.

They claimed, “Angelina will be devasted … look at all the press she did for the film — she wanted to get nominated.”

The source continued, “She did Jimmy Fallon, her first late-night show in over a decade. She even went to the Gotham Awards. She did all these magazine covers.”

Insider Believes Jolie’s Oscar Snub Was Due To Her Divorce From Brad Pitt

Meanwhile, another insider told the outlet that Angelina Jolie’s Oscar snub resulted from Hollywood choosing her ex-husband, Brad Pitt, over her following their messy divorce drama.

The source explained, “This just shows that Hollywood is Team Brad. The Globes showed that the foreign press loves her, but that’s not Hollywood.”

They added, “Nobody was going to go against Brad and give Angelina a vote … people just love Brad.”

However, another source noted that even though politics sometimes plays a role in awards, the Oscars wanted to nominate several first-timers instead of previous winners like Jolie.

They shared, “The divorce is done, and yes, politics do come into play a little alongside the films and performances. But the fact is that there are a lot of first-time nominees shows that we still have a healthy industry.”
