The Rihanna Navy is calling out their beloved idol for her alleged decision to support her beau A$AP Rocky amid his legal drama.

Displeased fans voiced their concerns on social media after reports claimed the “Breakin’ Dishes” hitmaker would attend her lover’s upcoming trial. The news did not sit right with many who saw the rapper as a stain on their goddess’ record.

Although Rihanna and A$AP Rocky have been turning heads as a power couple in the entertainment industry, many still wish the Barbadian beauty would level up her lover. Critics’ concerns have since skyrocketed as they worry about how the rapper’s potential jail time will affect the singer’s flawless rep.

According to new reports, Rihanna may attend her lover’s upcoming criminal trial on Wednesday, January 29. The legal showdown is scheduled at a courthouse in downtown Los Angeles, with a source claiming the singer is slated to be there, but her plans are subject to change.

If she does attend as reported, the “Work” singer is expected to sit in the gallery with regular people. Rihanna’s attendance will be a tremendous moral boost for Rocky, but will the court and prosecutors be willing to risk the possible impacts she could have on the case?

Prosecutors and Rocky’s defense attorney, Joe Tacopina, acknowledged that RiRi could sway the votes of possible jurors given her beloved superstar status.

On that note, TMZ shared that Rihanna was a key element in the jury selection process, with potential jurors questioned about being fans of the singer or if they had purchased her Fenty merchandise.

On X, the Rihanna Navy expressed their displeasure, imploring the beauty queen not to tarnish her successful brand with Rocky’s legal drama.

If convicted, the “L$D” rapper could face up to 24 years in state prison for alleging shooting his former friend A$AP Relli in 2021.

Many seemed to believe Rocky could lose the case and get jail time, with someone advising Rihanna to stay clear of the trial.

Their comment read, “Oh no girl! He’s going to prison if you show up or not.” Another echoed similar sentiments, exclaiming, “NAUR naur don’t do it!!!”

The criticism against Rocky continued with a third declaring, “She could do better. She had options.” A like-minded fan agreed, adding, “The only thing Rocky needs is some plastic surgery to fix that ugly mug of his. Rihanna could do much better.”

More fans slammed RiRi’s plans to stand by Rocky’s, noting the possible impacts on her businesses. A concerned X user begged her to change her mind, tweeting:

“Sis nooooo. Stay as far away as possible. If he goes down fr it’ll fk up the brand.”

“That’s not gonna help!” another noted about the singer’s court appearance, while a third saw Rihanna’s support as belittling.

“When successful women lower their standards with rappers/thugs. What’s new?” the critic penned. The negative responses to Rocky’s upcoming trial come days after he turned down a plea deal.

The Blast shared that prosecutors had offered the rapper an agreement that would spare him a lengthy jail sentence if he pled guilty to assault with a semiautomatic weapon, one of the two felony charges he faced.

He would receive a 180-day jail sentence, a 7-year suspended sentence, 3 years of probation, and 500 hours of community service.

Rocky reportedly rejected the offer through his attorney, describing the plea deal as career suicide while reiterating his innocence. An insider from the rapper’s camp echoed similar sentiments, stressing that he risked losing all his career endorsements if he accepted the offer.

“This would effectively end his career because he would lose all of his endorsement contracts, including Gucci, Puma, the Met Gala, and, most important, he would not be able to tour, and his career would be over,” the source explained.

Apart from defending his bag, Rocky refused the plea deal because he feared being under federal authorities’ control for eight years. He was unwilling to trade his freedom, especially since he remained adamant about his innocence in the alleged shooting drama.

Rocky’s legal mess began in November 2021 when he got into an altercation with his former friend near a Hollywood hotel. He allegedly fired off a gun in the heat of the conflict, with the alleged victim claiming the bullets caused bodily harm when they grazed his knuckles.

The incident allegedly stemmed from a series of feuds that existed between Rocky and Relli. A preliminary hearing was held following the allegations in November 2021, where the presiding judge, M.L. Villar, declared that the evidence provided was incriminating enough to begin a trial.

At the time, Rocky’s legal rep expressed disappointment over the judge’s decision. However, he claimed the outcome was within their predictions, saying:

“We expected to go to trial. We’ve been planning for trial all along. Rocky is going to be vindicated when all this is said and done without question.”

Will Rihanna show up to support A$AP Rocky despite fans’ disapproval?
