The NBA announced its All-Rookie teams on Wednesday night, and there were three players who were unanimous selections. Cooper Flagg (Dallas Mavericks), Kon Knueppel (Charlotte Hornets) and VJ Edgecombe (Philadelphia 76ers) each received 100 first-team votes.
Dylan Harper (San Antonio Spurs) and Cedric Coward (Memphis Grizzlies) rounded out the first team.
Harper received 93 first-team votes, while Coward received 29.
No major surprises on NBA All-Rookie team
The five first-team selections were also the only five players to receive Rookie of the Year votes, where Flagg ended up beating Knueppel for the top spot.
Flagg and Knueppel were almost universally regarded as the top two rookies in the league this season, with Flagg entering the league as one of the most hyped prospects in years.
He is now the focal point of the Mavericks rebuild, especially following last year’s Luka Doncic trade to the Los Angeles Lakers.
The second-team included Derik Queen (New Orleans Pelicans), Maxime Raynaud (Sacramento Kings), Jeremiah Fears (New Orleans), Ace Bailey (Utah Jazz) and Colin Murray-Boyles (Toronto Raptors).
The Pelicans duo making the second-team is a nice bright spot in an otherwise forgettable 26-win season. There is serious need for Queen to develop into a star given the price the Pelicans paid to acquire him at the 2025 NBA Draft, sending an unprotected first-round pick to the Atlanta Hawks for him.
That pick ended up being the No. 8 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.
