Kandi Burruss is gearing up for the first performance as “Angélique” in the Broadway musical “& Juliet.” Before officially taking the stage in NYC’s famed theater district, however, the former “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star stopped by “The View” to give viewers a taste of what she’s bringing to the jukebox musical, which features music from the talented Max Martin. Once the clip of Burruss’ performance was shared online, it generated a flood of comments, many of which were in support of the former Xscape singer, who recently announced her plans to divorce her husband of 11 years, Todd Tucker.

Burruss’ run on Broadway will take place from December 11 to March 8, 2026, according to a previous report from The Blast.

The musical isn’t your traditional Broadway production. It is a jukebox musical that reimagines Shakespeare’s “Romeo & Juliet” and explores what would have happened if Juliet hadn’t died at the end of the original story.

It features music by the iconic pop music producer, Max Martin, including “Since U Been Gone,” “Roar,” and Britney Spears’ “…Baby One More Time.”

This isn’t the first time Burruss has starred in a Broadway production, as she joined the cast of “Chicago” in 2018 and produced the Denzel Washington-led production, “Othello,” in 2025.

“I could not be more thrilled to return to the Broadway stage in this incredible musical,” Burruss said in October. “As a songwriter myself, I am such a fan of Max Martin’s genius mind, and to get to come back to Broadway in this joyful musical that celebrates his catalog is a dream come true.”

Burruss’ return to Broadway comes at a difficult time for the reality star, who revealed she filed for divorce from her husband of 11 years after reflecting on their relationship for some time.

“I’m stepping into a new chapter pouring into my work, my family, and my own growth. I’m grateful to everyone who supported us throughout the years, and I ask for privacy, grace, and understanding as we navigate this transition with our family,” she said.

Days later, Burruss explained how challenging it was to navigate her relationship woes, saying, “Sometimes you’re cool, you’re moving, you’re mixing, you’re moving, you’re hanging out with friends.”

Other days, Burruss said it’s the complete opposite. “So all the times you’ve been seeing me online [all smiles] means nothing. I’ve been going through it, child. I’ve been going through it. Life has been life-ing me,” she said.

According to an earlier report from The Blast, a source close to the couple shared that prior to their separation, Burruss learned that her husband was allegedly communicating with other women.

While it’s unclear whether Tucker had other relationships with women, the “Real Housewives” star previously hinted that she frequently invited others into her and her husband’s bedroom.

“No, I don’t have a girlfriend. I’m a fun girl, though,” she said. “I’m a married woman, let’s remind ourselves I’m a married woman. Any time people ask me about my personal life, I love to tell people, ‘Y’all do realize I ain’t on Real Housewives no more. So I don’t get paid to tell y’all my personal business.”
