The NFL revealed its Pro Bowl rosters for the AFC and NFC on Tuesday, rewarding several of the league’s best players for their performance during the season.
However, there were multiple snubs in each conference that certainly raised some eyebrows. One of those is Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love, who has a strong case worthy of being on the NFC roster and could have easily gotten the nod over Seattle Seahawks QB Sam Darnold.
Jordan Love should be in Pro Bowl
We have all heard the same critiques about Love’s struggles in big games and whether he is capable of leading Green Bay back to the Super Bowl. Sure, there have been times that he has struggled this season, but a banged-up receiving corps and offensive line played a decent role in that.
Love’s completion percentage (66.3%) only ranks 16th in the league, but his ability to take care of the ball has been key. Love has the third-best QBR (72.9) and has 3,381 pass yards with 23 TDs and only six interceptions.
After suffering a concussion in Green Bay’s stunning overtime loss to the Chicago Bears on Saturday night, Love is currently listed as questionable for Saturday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens. Still, that should not discredit how impressive he has been for this Packers offense.
As for who he should replace, look no further than Darnold. He absolutely deserves credit for leading Seattle (12-3) to the current No. 1 seed in the NFC, but with a 12th-ranked QBR (60.8) and 18 turnovers to Love’s eight, it is difficult to make the case that his Pro Bowl nod is more deserving than Love.
Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford (4,179) and Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott (4,175) lead the NFL in passing yards, so there is no doubt they have earned their Pro Bowl selections. Stafford is even the MVP front-runner (-195, per FanDuel as of Dec. 23).
The only other NFC QBs who have passed for more yards than Love this season are Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff (4,036 yards, 32 TDs) and Bears QB Caleb Williams (3,400 yards, 23 TDs). Williams actually has the same number of passing TDs as Love, but has struggled with completions (57.8%), so there is not much of a debate there.
The case can certainly be made for Goff, who has only accounted for five interceptions all season. However, Goff completed a season-low 37.8% of his passes in a Week 11 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, posting far worse numbers than Love has at any point this season.
While is not uncommon at all for a QB to experience an off night and struggle mightily, that also further highlights how consistent Love has been when one of the season’s most efficient passers could not get into any rhythm at all in his worst game of the 2025 campaign.
When you factor in the consistency and lack of turnovers all season, Love has done more than enough to make the Pro Bowl roster. That is what makes his snub hard to comprehend, while also showing how competitive the league is when a QB of his caliber is left out of the Pro Bowl.
