Zendaya is one of the busiest actresses in Hollywood. Not only is her hit HBO drama series “Euphoria” set to return in April, but she also has a new movie, “The Drama,” starring alongside Robert Pattinson, which has drawn backlash over a controversial plot twist. Now, amid the discourse, the “Odyssey” actress says she’s planning to take a break.

Zendaya Has Several Projects Releasing This Year

Zendaya and Pattinson recently spoke to Fandango about “The Drama,” which hits movie theaters on April 3. During the interview, a discussion arose about the fact that both actors have several upcoming movies.

Regarding Zendaya, she has five projects scheduled for 2026 alone. Of course, this means these films and shows have already been filmed or are near completion.

She remarked on the sheer volume of projects, saying, “I just hope you guys don’t get sick of me this year because I’ll tell you what, after this, I’m disappearing for a little bit. I’m going to have to go into hiding for just a little bit.”

Zendaya has been in the industry since 2010. However, she’s become a staple in pop culture in more recent years thanks to her roles in films such as the “Spider-Man” movies, “Challengers,” and “The Greatest Showman.”

Now, 2026 is set to be perhaps her busiest year yet. Following “The Drama,” she will appear in Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey,” which arrives in movie theaters on July 17. The same month, on the 31st, fans will also see her in “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” alongside her fiancé, Tom Holland, who will also appear in “The Odyssey.”

Then, in December, “Dune: Part Three” will hit theaters on the 18th. Regarding television, “Euphoria” returns for its third season on April 12.

Fans Are Reacting To Her Much-Needed Break

Fans were quick to react to Zendaya’s comments about taking a short break from acting. One X user said, “You’ve earned the break, Zendaya! Can’t wait to see everything you’ve been working on.” Another fan wrote, “She’s been on camera for a long time, so it’s good for her to take a break and give both herself and her face some rest.”

Someone else speculated, “Zendaya taking a break already… or just making sure people miss her before they get bored?” A different X user joked, “She really said, I’m giving you enough content to survive the winter, now leave me and my quiet life alone.”

Lastly, a fan wrote, “Zendaya is literally the main character of 2026. She has a few projects dropping this year, including Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey,’ ‘Spider-Man,’ and ‘Dune 3.’ She says she’s going into ‘hiding’ after this to give us a break, but honestly? We’re never getting sick of her.”

As mentioned, “The Drama,” featuring Zendaya and Pattinson as a couple, will be released in movie theaters in April 2026. Leading up to the film, it was revealed that there would be a twist no one saw coming, based solely on its marketing as a romantic comedy.

After that, on March 24, TMZ revealed that the twist was that Zendaya’s character had considered committing a school shooting. To be clear, her character did not go through with the plan, but now, a parent of a Columbine victim has denounced the film to TMZ.

The father, Tom Mauser, said he felt the movie “humanizes” shooters and “normalizes” shootings. It’s also worth noting that popular film critic Grace Randolph has seen the film but has decided not to review it.

She wrote on X, “For those of you that didn’t see my previous tweet, I saw #TheDrama this evening. And I feel the extremely delicate subject matter is handled so poorly, it makes it impossible to discuss.”

So far, neither Zendaya, Pattinson, nor A24, the studio behind “The Drama,” has responded to the backlash.

The ‘Euphoria’ Actress Is Rumored To Be Married

Zendaya and Holland became engaged in late 2024. Since then, there has been much speculation about when they may actually walk down the aisle.

The anticipation was then amplified when famed celebrity stylist Law Roach said to Access Hollywood in March 2026, “The wedding has already happened. You missed it.” Of course, it’s unclear if his comments were to be taken seriously or if he was hinting at her movie, “The Drama,” in which she plans to marry Pattinson’s character.

Since then, Zendaya has not said whether she and Holland have gotten married.
