U.S. and Iranian Officials Meet in Oman for Talks

Iran’s foreign minister said that talks in Oman with U.S. officials aimed at preventing another conflict in the region were off to a “good start.”

Reporter: “Sir, on Iran. The supreme leader today said that a U.S. attack could spark a regional war. Do you have any response to that?” “Why wouldn’t he say that? Of course you’re going to say that. But we have the biggest, most powerful ships in the world over there. Very close — a couple of days and hopefully we’ll make a deal. We don’t make a deal, then we’ll find out whether or not he was right.” “While these negotiations are taking place, I would remind the Iranian regime that the president has many options at his disposal, aside from diplomacy, diplomacy as the commander in chief of the most powerful military in the history of the world.”
