Happy 39th birthday to 16-year Major Leaguer and winner of both the 2019 American League Comeback Player of the Year and Roberto Clemente Award, Carlos “Cookie,” Carrasco!

Making his debut with Cleveland in 2009, Clemente spent the first 12 years of his career with the Guardians. He finished top-10 in the AL in wins three times while in Cleveland and he led all of baseball with 18 in 2017. That year he also joined an elite group of pitchers who have thrown an “immaculate inning,” or striking out all three batters on three pitches each.

In 2019, he was diagnosed with a treatable form of leukemia, but missed just a couple of months before returning to the mound. His return won him the 2019 AL Comeback Player of the Year award, and his charity work earned him the Roberto Clemente Award that recognizes the humanitarian work of MLB players.

Carrasco has bounced around clubs over the past few seasons, and was a non-roster invitee to the Atlanta Braves 2026 Spring Training after making three starts for them last season.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. How many of the players to win the Roberto Clemente Award since 2000 can you name in five minutes?

    Good luck!
