Happy 40th birthday to six-time NBA All-Star, 2015-16 third-team All-NBA selection and 2018-19 NBA champion with the Toronto Raptors, Kyle Lowry!

A Philadelphia native, Lowry played his college basketball in his hometown at Villanova before being selected with the 24th-overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft by the Memphis Grizzlies. He spent his first six seasons with the Grizzlies and Houston Rockets before he was sent to Toronto in July 2012.

North of the border is where Lowry really blossomed. He became known as “Mr. Raptor,” in his nine-years with Toronto, averaging 17.5 points, 7.1 assists and 1.5 steals-per-game in 601 contests. He made the All-Star game each season from 2014-20, and won his lone NBA title with the Raptors single-season with Kawhi Leonard.

After leaving Toronto, Lowry played 155 games with the Miami Heat from 2021-24, before being traded to Charlotte and eventually ending up with the 76ers. In his 20th campaign, he’s been limited to occasional cameos for the Sixers, playing in 12 games and averaging just 1.2 points in nine minutes.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. When Lowry takes the floor next for the 76ers, he’ll become the 32nd player over 40 years old to appear in an NBA game in the Shot Clock Era (since 1954-55). How many of those players can you name in five minutes?

    Good luck!
