The Game Earns Praise For Giving Compton Neighbors Surprising Gift

Compton-born rapper The Game, real name Jayceon Terrell Taylor, found a special way to give back to his community and ring in the new year. In an Instagram post, Taylor showed himself hopping out of his luxury Mercedes whip to give members of his old neighborhood brand-new Xbox consoles. The comments were filled with support, as many praised the “Dreams” rapper for making a positive impact on his community.

Taylor explained in his Instagram caption that he woke up in a giving mood on New Year’s Day. In the video, the rapper was seen making stops in his old neighborhood, handing out brand-new Xbox gaming consoles to kids and their families. In one clip, Taylor tells one recipient to share it with his brother, while in another, he hops out at a stoplight to signal the car next to him.

Taylor’s New Year’s Day gifts meant more to him than some might imagine, as the rapper reflected on seeing his mother work day and night when he was a child to purchase him a Nintendo the first day it dropped. “I love my mama and her dedication to parenting is what made me the father/person I am today,” he said.

“January 1st 2026……. Mama yo son made it, thank you,” he finished.

Taylor’s kind gesture was highlighted on @TheShadeRoom on Instagram, and the comment section was flooded with kind words thanking and praising the rapper for giving back to the community that helped shape him. “These the drive by’s I wanna see,” someone wrote, while another said, “Just appreciate a man doing something positive.”

Another user chimed in, writing, “I love when people just give back. It’s a helluva time in America right now.” An act of kindness literally always warms my heart.” Someone else shared, “Nahhh, I really can’t wait til GOD blesses me enough to do stuff like this!!”

Taylor isn’t the only public figure sharing his wealth this holiday season, as NFL stars Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes, and Aaron Rodgers presented their offensive linemen with pricey gifts for their hard work during the 2025 season.

According to The Blast, Burrow turned back the clock with his gift, allowing his linemen to choose from a variety of prehistoric fossils, including “authentic dinosaur, bear, and mammoth” remains.

Mahomes gave his linemen a flashy gift set that included Meta sunglasses, Beats Studio Pro headphones, a Hublot watch, an e-bike, and more, while Rodgers gave his Steelers teammates $20,000 Can-Am Maverick X3-X turbos.

Recently, Taylor made headlines after appearing on Shannon Sharpe’s “Club Shay Shay” podcast. During his conversation, the rapper spoke with the Super Bowl champion about his past remarks regarding Kim Kardashian, in which he claimed to have had a sexual relationship with her.

“Sometimes, man, you wake up and choose a little violence,” he said. “If I tried to make up an excuse for my behavior, there just is no excuse. It’s the wrong thing to do on the right day.”

In 2019, Taylor sent social media users into a frenzy when he shared a sneak peek from one of his songs, in which he claimed he made the reality star “swallow my kids until she choke.”

Taylor told Sharpe that he ultimately limited his public statements about the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star because of his relationship with her ex-husband, Kanye West.

“He was like, ‘I love you, but can we not ever talk about my wife again?'” Taylor shared. “And I said, ‘You know what? Even though I’m bigger and stronger, you got that right.’ I told him I wasn’t going to do that no more.”
