There’s been a major update in the ongoing fraud case of “Real Housewives of Potomac” stars Wendy and Eddie Osefo. According to a new report, the two reality stars will now be tried separately as their case moves forward.

Wendy and Eddie Osefo were arrested in the late-night hours of October 9, 2025, and charged with various counts of fraud stemming from an alleged burglary they reported to Maryland police in April 2024. Wendy and Eddie could face up to 15 years behind bars if convicted.

During the most recent episode of “RHOP,” Wendy Osefo opened up about her arrest, which prompted her co-star, Karen Huger, to issue her a stern legal warning.

Wendy And Eddie Will No Longer Be Tried Together In Their Ongoing Fraud Case

During Wendy and Eddie’s March 4, 2026, court appearance, it was decided that the two TV personalities would not be tried together, according to Taria Faison, host of the “What Else Is Going On” podcast.

Faison shared that Wendy did not waive her right to a speedy trial; however, she will likely have to wait until May before her case is before a jury. Eddie, meanwhile, chose to waive his rights to a speedy trial.

Faison further reported that Wendy and Eddie’s upcoming trials would likely run for four days each, with one day set aside for the defense.

What Have Authorities Accused Wendy And Eddie Osefo Of Doing?

A previous report from The Blast reveals that Wendy and Edie were charged with various counts of fraud after authorities accused them of reporting a fake burglary to secure payments from insurance companies.

According to authorities, the Bravo veterans told law enforcement that someone broke into their Maryland home and stole several high-value items, including designer purses and wallets. Throughout their investigation, however, authorities reportedly found that several of the items the pair claimed were missing had already been returned to stores for full refunds.

Their investigation also turned up alleged communication from Eddie to Wendy, including an email in which he reportedly asked the “RHOP” star to name other “high-value items we can add to this inventory list,” stating that his intention was to “get the total to exceed $423,000,” which was the policy’s maximum allowance.

During a previous appearance on the “Gabbing with Gib” podcast, Wendy opened up about the alleged burglary, saying the encounter left her feeling “violated.” She also got emotional while recalling the reported burglary because of her children.

“Where I live is for their safety, for them to have ample acres to run, play, enjoy, free of anything,” she said. “When someone comes into your home, which is such a sacred space, and violates you in such a way, you start questioning things.”

Wendy Osefo Opened Up About The Reported Burglary And Her Arrest During The ‘RHOP’ Reunion

At the “RHOP” season 10 reunion, Wendy discussed her legal woes with Andy Cohen and recounted the alleged burglary. During their conversation, Wendy shared that her daughter was the one who initially discovered that something had gone wrong.

“That was in 2024. Fastforward to October 9, 2025, we get a knock on the door. I’m sleeping, Eddie wakes me up and says, ‘baby, the police are down here,'” Wendy explained.

Wendy’s admission garnered a sharp response from her co-stars, specifically Karen Huger, who told her to “shut the f-ck up.”

“I just told you to shut the f-ck up,” Huger said. “I took it out of context because I didn’t want you to do what you just did. I wouldn’t have answered anything on this stage today.”

Huger Has Words Of Advice For Wendy

Huger, who was released from prison in September 2025, continued, warning Wendy that speaking too much could come back to bite her.

“You’re talking too much, Wendy. I’m begging you to stop talking. I do not want you to go to jail,” Huger said. “Take it from the Karen you used to like, how about that? Because when you talk, they watch, OK? They hear you. And so, I would have said, ‘Respectfully, Andy, I can’t answer those questions right now.'”

At BravoCon 2025, Wendy spoke with the Bravo fanbase about her case.

“I read your messages. I can’t respond to everyone, but your love and support means the world to me,” she said. “You know, it’s an unfortunate situation, and right now I can’t say too much, but I will say when the time is right, I will share my story with everyone, and for now they’re just allegations, so we will continue to push forward.”
