The Dallas Mavericks’ trade for Anthony Davis didn’t work out as expected.
He’s been hurt often, and while they can still salvage this season, they might be better off exploring another trade. Then again, given his steep salary — he’s owed $175.36M through 2028 — and his history of injuries, the list of potential suitors isn’t that big.
According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, only the Toronto Raptors and Atlanta Hawks are keeping tabs on his situation at the moment.

“Toronto and Atlanta are still the only teams that we can talk about as confirmed teams that are interested in pursuing Anthony Davis,” Fischer said, per Omer Osman.
Fischer added that Jakob Poeltl’s injury might be the deciding factor for the Raptors, as he’s still seen as a core piece of their project.
“Their [Raptors] interest only has to grow the longer Jakob Poeltl is out due to injury,” Fischer added. “What the Raptors think of him [Poeltl] moving forward will be as pertinent to anything the Raptors pursuit of any Anthony Davis trade.”
It’s undeniable that Davis is still one of the most impactful two-way players in the NBA when he’s on the court. He’s averaging 20.3 points, 11.1 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game on 52.2 percent shooting from the field. That being said, his constant injuries and the current structure of the CBA are more than enough to scare multiple potential trade suitors away.
