North London Stabbing Is Being Treated as Terrorism, Police Say

Two men were stabbed in north London on Wednesday, in an area that is home to just over half of Britain’s 300,000 Jewish residents. The city’s main police force said the attack was being treated as terrorism.

“A 45-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody following a checkup at the local hospital. He has a history of serious violence and mental health issues. And that investigation continues.” “We are angry. We are terrified. And it’s a range of emotions that just goes through us day in and day out.” “It’s very, very worrying. Very scared. And it comes to a point when you start thinking, Are Jewish people welcome here at all?” “It is deeply concerning to everyone in this House. There is now a police investigation, and I think we all need to do everything we can to support that investigation and be absolutely clear in our determination to deal with any of these offenses, the like of which we’ve seen too much recently.”
