Leftist Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker’s Soft-on-Crime Backfires After On-the-Run 10-Time Convicted Felon Climbs Fence Into HIS OWN Backyard — Released Again Before Separate Conviction Sends Him Back to Jail

    Dwayne Milton

A repeat felony offender with an extensive criminal history was arrested after allegedly trespassing in the backyard of Illinois Governor JB Pritzker’s Chicago residence on the night of July 4.

This is what happens when radical Democrat policies put dangerous repeat offenders back on the streets.

Dwayne Milton, a career criminal with more than 10 felony convictions and over 60 total cases in Cook County, was detained by Illinois State Police after he allegedly tried to climb into Governor JB Pritzker’s backyard on July 4.

Milton, 46, was already on pretrial release with an ankle monitor for a felony retail theft charge when he vanished from electronic monitoring for 11 days.

Court records show he started violating his curfew and monitoring conditions almost immediately after the monitor was strapped on in mid-June. A warrant was issued, but he remained free, until he showed up at the governor’s mansion.

According to The Center Square, Illinois State Police troopers assigned to the governor’s security detail observed Milton allegedly climbing over a fence and entering the backyard of Pritzker’s Gold Coast residence at approximately 10 p.m.

Troopers detained him before Chicago police arrived and took him into custody. Milton was charged with criminal trespass.

In classic soft-on-crime fashion, Milton was ordered released pending trial on the new trespassing charge (with instructions not to return to the governor’s property).

However, he was later taken back into custody after pleading guilty to the separate felony retail theft case he was already on monitoring for. He received a one-year prison sentence with credit for time served.

Milton’s rap sheet is a textbook example of the revolving door created by Illinois’ Democrat-backed “criminal justice reform.”

His prior felony convictions include burglary (2024), multiple retail thefts, and two robberies dating back to 2005. He has cycled through the Cook County court system more than 60 times.

For years, Pritzker and his far-left allies insisted that abolishing cash bail would make communities “safer” and “more equitable.” Instead, it has turned Illinois into a revolving door for career felons.
