Lamar Odom is opening up about the “afterlife” in a brand new documentary, also featuring Khloé Kardashian, about his addiction struggles. In the project, titled “Untold: The Death & Life of Lamar Odom,” viewers will hear exclusive admissions that reveal the dark truth of what the former NBA star was going through.

The trailer, which was shared online on March 3, 2026, opens with Odom’s headline-making experience at the Love Ranch brothel in Crystal, Nevada.
“I had 12 strokes and six heart attacks,” he said. “That’s not no average sh-t.”
Odom’s ex-wife, Khloé, also appeared in the super teaser and shared personal details about their past relationship.
“He would escape rehab and go on a drug bender and no one could find him,” she said. “I just felt such a responsibility to cover this up and protect him.”
Odom appears to be as honest as he can be in the documentary. In one clip, he tells the cameras about his experience with illicit drugs, specifically cocaine, admitting his first time with the substance left him wanting more.

“… you unlock a vault that you can’t really control… I was out all night partying. I didn’t want to stop,” he said.
The trailer ended with a chilling quote from Odom: “The afterlife is not what people make it out to be.”

Lamar Odom Is Just One Player Starring In The New Set Of ‘Untold’ Stories Coming To Netflix
Odom’s story is just one of four being explored in the “Untold” documentary series streaming on Netflix. According to Tudum, the latest season will be available to stream starting March 31, with weekly premieres thereafter.
“… these gripping stories extend well beyond the playing field and feature raw, first-person perspectives from those at the heart of the action, revealing surprising truths fans have yet to hear,” a statement from the streaming giant read.
In addition to Odom, watchers will learn more about Hans Niemann, a rising chess star whose victory over Magnus Carlsen was clouded by accusations of cheating.

Former Portland Trail Blazers stars Rasheed Wallace, Damon Stoudamire, and Bonzi Wells are also the subject of an upcoming “Untold” project focusing on their off-court lives, which were embroiled in “scandal, controversy, and relentless media attention.”
The final documentary of the season will give viewers an inside look into the saddening story of Michael Barisone, a retired Olympian who was accused of spying on a student.

Lamar Odom Was Recently Arrested For Alleged DUI In Las Vegas, Nevada
Odom’s appearance in the “Untold” documentary comes just weeks after the former Los Angeles Lakers star was arrested in Las Vegas, Nevada, on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to The Blast.
The 46-year-old was booked in the early hours of January 17, 2026, and was cited for two traffic violations, including driving 41 MPH over the limit and improper lane change/failure to maintain lane.
The “Khloé & Lamar” TV personality was previously arrested on the same charge in 2013. At the time, a California law enforcement officer stated they noticed the athlete’s vehicle traveling in a snake-like manner and claimed Odom displayed “objective signs of intoxication and was unable to perform field sobriety tests as explained and demonstrated.”
Odom Previously Discussed Using Synthetic Drugs To Help Him Stay Sober
In the years after his near-death experience at the Love Ranch brothel, Odom checked into rehab and later began using other means to help him stay sober. On “Good Morning America,” Odom said he was using ketamine, a synthetic drug with “hallucinogenic effects,” per the DEA.
“I went to rehab and did some other things, but ketamine came into my life at the right time,” he said in 2021. “I’m alive. I’m sober. I’m happy.”
A review from the National Library of Medicine explained that ketamine provides “positive and short-lived effects” for those struggling with mental health.

Odom Has Starred In A Docuseries Before
“Untold” isn’t the first time Odom has sat down in front of cameras to share his story.
In a previous interview with PEOPLE, Odom discussed his role in a previous docuseries and said he was eager to share his story with the public, hoping it would “inspire” change in someone else.
“I’m actually happy to share [the things I’ve been through] with people to inspire them,” he said. “I get the same kind of feeling when people come up to me and say ‘Lamar you are an incredible basketball player.’ It’s the same feeling when people come up to me about adversities I’ve gone through, such as drugs. I’ve overcome many battles and they can relate to it and it inspires them. So, I feel good about sharing my life and moments I might not have been so proud of at the time.”
