Kody Brown‘s exes hold very strong opinions about him!

The “Sister Wives” star’s ego was a constant feature in his plural marriage, and now two of his estranged wives are dissecting the situation and how it shaped their experiences in the demised union.

Kody Brown’s plural marriage began to crumble in 2021, when Christine Brown ended their 26-year-old spiritual marriage. This was closely followed by Janelle Brown and Meri Brown, who exited the marriage in 2022 and 2023, respectively.

The duo gave a thorough review of their former husband’s character and his “big ego,” which influenced how he acted towards everyone. Meri opened the floor by affirming that Kody does have a huge ego, but he remains a very charismatic person who is fun to hang out with.

“He’s a little bit too cocky. I don’t like cocky. And that kind of goes along with ego. So there are times that he does have that,” Meri added. Janelle also agreed with Meri’s take and did not seem to have a problem with it.

As reported by US Magazine, Janelle declared that whatever excesses Kody displayed was no longer her cross to bear, as she has moved on from him and the marriage.

The 56-year-old tied the knot with Kody in 1993 after he married Meri a few years prior, setting the stage for Christine to become a sister wife in 1994.

The 56-year-old went further into the relationship between Kody and having a massive ego, and being able to steer the ship of polygamy. Janelle established her point by reaffirming that men do not have what it takes to be a polygamist.

She also referred to a previous comment from Christine’s new husband, David Woolley, where he spoke about a specific type of ego that often asserts dominance. According to her, the practice of men in polygamy enjoying watching women fighting over them was abnormal.

Christine added that she sees sadness in polygamy more than any other arrangement, and it is difficult to agree with David’s understanding of the arrangement, which he said was more about controlling women.

Despite this overwhelming belief, Janelle and Meri revealed that they have never felt the need to compete for Kody’s affection. Meri, however, chipped in that she has given altering one or two things about herself a thought in the past in a bid to fit in.

Meri Brown And Kody Brown Traced Their Fights Over Money To Their Time In Las Vegas

‘Sister Wives’ Star Meri Brown Gets A 'New Hair To Go Along With New Life' After Kody Split

As reported by The Blast, the former couple, who share a child before the end of the marriage, gave a closer context into the origin of their unending fights over money and property, which was a massive highlight of their separation.

Meri insisted on the second part of the “Sister Wives: 1-on-1 special,” on Sunday, January 18, that it all started following the sale of their Las Vegas house, in which they lived from 2011 to 2018, alongside Christine, Janelle, and Robyn Brown at the time.

Kody had claimed that Meri was reluctant to share the proceeds from the sale of the Las Vegas property and tried to keep all the funds. On Meri’s part, there was no argument with Kody on the matter because they were legally married during the time of purchase of the property.

Meri noted that she was the primary resident of the property for the majority of the time, and it would have made sense for her to have the full amount of the equity, but she never asked for the money.

She claimed that she made all the payments on the house while his name remained on the deed, but every proceeds of the Vegas home reportedly went into Robyn’s Arizona house.

Kody Rejected Christine Brown’s Husband’s Advice Over Making Amends With The Kids

'Sister Wives' Christine Brown Snuggles Up With New Beau David Woolley As They Continue To Flaunt Their Love

Last year, during an episode of the show, David advised Kody to make amends with his kids after years of hurt and neglect by him in order to help them heal. As The Blast noted, Kody expressed that since his ex-wives have moved on from his life, the gaps in his relationship with his kids have now shown, and he needs to fix that.

However, David’s advice seemed to have struck the wrong nerves within Kody’s ears as he insisted that his apology to Christine at the time was deliberate and he could not care less about anyone’s opinion.

“Any of his experience with his children and any of his advice for me is something that I’m just not interested in at this point, because it’s like he’s kind of just on the opposite side of this,” Kody continued.

He noted that the deterioration in his relationship with his children and his wives happened on a group basis and not as individuals, which meant a one-on-one apology may not work. Kody stressed that he never intentionally ruined his relationship with his children, and it would be best if Christine and David stayed out of it.

The father of 18, who built his life and identity around his large family, reacted to the development in his life, which saw three of his four wives leave him within three years.

The reality TV star confessed that after fathering nearly 20 children with four wives and dealing with three divorces, he would never marry again. Kody explained that his affinity with polygamy began in childhood due to his father marrying three women.

“There ended up being some bad blood with the family over the divorces. In some cases with my children, communication has ceased,” the star revealed in his confession.

Kody had earlier established that he had reached out to all his kids more than once, and any broken relationship was due to them not returning his gesture.

Will Kody Brown give any reaction to what his former wives have said?
