The New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs are at it again on Saturday in Game 5 of the NBA Finals. If the Knicks pull off a win in San Antonio, the series will be over, and they’ll be crowned the winners of the 2026 NBA championship.

So, yes, there’s a lot on the line. Every single player on both sides has to be on point. For the Knicks, they’re in enemy territory, so the pressure is on to perform in front of a crowd of Spurs fans.

Plenty of history was made on Wednesday during Game 4 of the Finals. The Knicks notched a comeback win that was nothing short of historic, coming back from a 29-point deficit to win in the final 1.2 seconds, 107-106.

OG Anunoby of the Knicks stands alongside Michael Jordan in a stat

OG Anunoby has been one of the standout players for the Knicks during this series, but he really stepped it up in Game 4. During the game, he scored 33 points, successfully blocked De’Aaron Fox‘s late-game shot and scored the game-winning basket by tipping Jalen Brunson’s missed bucket.

Now, the NBA has announced some news on Anunoby. The league took to X to announce that when Anunoby notched that defensive stop and game-winning bucket in the final seconds of Game 4, he joined the great Michael Jordan as the first player to do so in a Finals game since Jordan did it during the 1997-98 season.
