Klint Kubiak could lose Raiders HC job to a sleeper candidate

And then, there were two. Only the Las Vegas Raiders and Arizona Cardinals haven’t hired a new head coach in this cycle.

Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak will meet with both teams on Saturday. However, since his team is in the Super Bowl, he won’t be able to sign with either team until at least Feb. 9.

Even though Kubiak seems to be the frontrunner to get the job in Las Vegas, ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler reports that Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero is also in play.

Ejiro Evero could beat Klint Kubiak for the Raiders HC job

“Eyes on Klint Kubiak for the Raiders job, but Panthers DC Ejiro Evero is still in the mix there. Some candidates have been eliminated but he has not. He conveyed detailed QB/offensive plan in in-person meeting with Raiders. Raiders regime and Evero have Denver ties,” Fowler wrote on X.

Kubiak has been a rising star in the coaching ranks over the past couple of years. With him at the helm, the Seahawks averaged the third-most points per game in the league this season (29.2 PPG, including playoffs).

Also, he has ties to the organization, as Raiders GM John Spytek was with the Denver Broncos when Gary Kubiak, Klint’s father, was their head coach.

Still, with the Cardinals also in play for his services and the clock ticking, Tom Brady and company may not want to take any risks and could decide to secure a candidate rather than wait.
