Americans may be surprised to learn how many foreign flags are floating around the U.S. Capitol grounds, particularly outside the offices of their Representatives.

If you take a stroll around the Longworth, Cannon, and Rayburn House Office Buildings, for example, you’ll find all kinds of things being promoted.

“Pride” flags, POW/MIA flags, Ukraine flags, Israel flags.

Heck, every now and then you even come across an American flag, though only rarely. You are more likely to come across a flag representing something foreign.

And it’s not just limited to flags:

That should tell you all kinds of things about our country, and the priorities of our politicians.

But at least one Senator has had enough with his fellow Members of Congress promoting foreign interests in what the Democrats call “the Citadel of Democracy.” Bernie Moreno of Ohio told Breitbart News he has a bill to put a stop to it.

Ban Foreign Flags At the Capitol

It’s one of those cases of “Why in the world isn’t this already done?” Sometimes, it takes an outsider to see something clearly.

Senator Moreno is from Colombia. To his eyes, it’s a moral outrage that Americans would promote foreign countries in their own Capitol.

If others see it, they haven’t seen fit to do anything about it.

Moreno’s bill, the Allegiance Act, strikes at the heart of the matter by prohibiting Members from using official funds to purchase foreign flags and prohibiting their display altogether.

It’s basic common sense and basic morality. Only in America could elected officials get away with nakedly promoting the interests of a foreign country ahead of their own.

If you need it explained to you why representatives of the American people should not be promoting foreign interests, you wouldn’t understand the explanation anyway.

The question is: does the rest of the Republican Party have the intestinal fortitude to pass the bill?

If anyone out there reading this is in the D.C. area, I would love to know who is flying which flags today.
