Georgia lands elite five-star 2027 RB Kemon Spell

Plenty of great running backs have gone through Athens, Ga., on their way to the NFL, and 2027 five-star running back Kemon Spell wants to be one of them.

Spell, from McKeesport, Pa., is an elite recruit. According to the 247Sports Composite, he’s ranked as the No. 1 running back in the 2027 class and the No. 7 recruit overall.

As the consensus top player from the state of Pennsylvania, it made sense when he committed to the Penn State Nittany Lions. That commitment fell off when former head coach James Franklin was fired back in October, though.

The Nittany Lions couldn’t keep him interested, and instead, a trio of big-time programs — the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Miami Hurricanes and Georgia Bulldogs — jumped into the fray.

Spell was in Athens last weekend for a recruiting event, and being there in person was apparently enough to put the Bulldogs over the top. On Monday, he committed to Georgia, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
