It’s seemingly the end of an era for Hollywood heartthrob George Clooney as he says he’ll no longer be “kissing girls” onscreen.

The move doesn’t come as a surprise, as the actor previously spoke about how his maturity, experience, and financial security mean he can be picky on the kind of projects he stars in.

George Clooney is more of a family man these days, as he admitted he had children late, so he gets to spend more time with them.

Clooney is officially declaring an end to his time as Hollywood’s go-to onscreen Casanova.

In a recent interview, Clooney, who has played many heartthrob roles and smooched several Hollywood ladies, said he will no longer be “kissing girls” on screen after having a conversation with his wife, Amal.

“I’ve been trying to go the route Paul Newman did: ‘OK, well, I’m not kissing a girl anymore,'” he told the Daily Mail‘s Richard Eden.

His age at 64 also seems to be a contributory factor to his decision, especially as the “Ocean’s Eleven” actor turns his attention towards his wife and twins, Ella and Alexander.

“When I turned 60, I had a conversation with my wife. I said, ‘Look, I can still play basketball with the boys. I play with 25-year-old guys,'” he said.

Clooney added, “I can still hang, I’m in shape. But in 25 years, I’m 85 years old. It doesn’t matter how many granola bars you eat, that’s a real number.”

Meanwhile, there are still Hollywood stakeholders who are not impressed with Clooney’s kissing skills.

The “Jay Kelly” actor was left disappointed when a director criticized him for it, even though he used his “real-life moves” for the scene in question.

“I remember early on in my career, I had to do a kissing scene with this girl, and the director goes, ‘Not like that.’ And I was like, ‘Dude, that’s my move! That’s what I do in real life!'” he told The New York Times.

The actress involved in the scene remains unknown, but Clooney has had such onscreen escapades with the likes of Julia Roberts and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Clooney has become more open about his life lately, especially when it comes to issues relating to his children, Ella and Alexander, whom he said he had “left so I could spend time with them.”

He told The Times that starting out early makes it difficult for one to balance raising kids with a career, and by so doing, sacrifice time away from family.

“But look, it’s easier for me. I had kids very late, and so I could spend more time with them. But when you’re young? That’s hard,” he said.

Clooney added that an upward turn in age, experience, and financial stability means he gets to choose which project he’ll work on, whereas, at the start, “you have no control” over that.

“I remember when I got Batman & Robin in 1997 – I called my friends, and we screamed because back then I had only done one studio picture, and so to me that was a huge break,” he reminisced. “Of course, we did not understand then that it was going to be a terrible movie.”

The actor, whose screen career spans more than 4 decades, has recorded massive success with several Academy Award nominations, winning Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of a veteran CIA officer in the 2005 film “Syriana.”

Things are also going well for the actor on the home front as he recently revealed he and his wife, Amal, have never argued in their 10-year marriage.

He made the revelation when he joined Travis and Jason Kelce on their “New Heights” podcast, claiming that he and his wife don’t see reason in picking up fights that won’t lead to anything.

Travis seemingly couldn’t believe it and asked, “You claim that you and your wife haven’t gotten in a fight in 10 years. Are you lying?”

“No, I’m not lying, Travis. Shall we ask you the same questions?” Clooney responded, adding, “Neither of us is going to win the argument, so why get in it?”

The Hollywood legend and the Human rights attorney tied the knot in 2014 and have largely kept details of their marriage and kids private.
