The No. 1-ranked Duke Blue Devils have suffered a tough personnel loss at the worst time of the season.

Starting point guard Caleb Foster will be out for the foreseeable future because of a fractured right foot.

Foster started Duke’s 76-61 win over North Carolina this past weekend but played just 11 minutes before leaving the game with an injury. He had to go to the locker room and came back to the bench wearing a walking boot.

On Tuesday, head coach Jon Scheyer revealed that Foster suffered a fractured foot.

“Caleb Foster suffered a fracture in his right foot and is out for the foreseeable future. He had surgery Sunday morning,” Duke confirmed in a social media post after Scheyer’s news conference.

The Blue Devils also revealed that sophomore center Patrick Ngongba II will miss the ACC Tournament due to foot soreness.
