Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have long been one of music’s most unlikely (and most beloved) couples, blending southern charm with pop-punk edge since first meeting on “The Voice.” From their whirlwind romance to their 2021 wedding, the pair have frequently spoken about the strength of their bond, even as they juggle demanding careers in music and television. In recent months, however, online speculation has swirled about the state of their marriage, with persistent rumors suggesting the couple was headed for a split. After months of chatter, Blake Shelton is now directly addressing the claims and making it clear where things really stand.

While co-hosting “Country Countdown USA” on January 10, the 49-year-old country singer addressed the rumors he’s been seeing since October that he and Stefani were headed for divorce. “I started noticing these articles popping up about ‘Blake and Gwen, they’re split up,’” Shelton said. “‘They’re not even seeing each other anymore, they’re going through a divorce.’ And then, a week later, a picture comes out of us walking out of the grocery store … ‘Oh, they’re back together again!’”

“And another week goes by and we’re not seen at the grocery store … ‘They’re divorcing,’” he continued. “I see pictures of Gwen and I on social media that I really go, ‘That looks so real.’ But I know I don’t even own that shirt or, ‘Whose car is that?’”

Shelton went on to stress that he doesn’t “believe anything anymore that I see on the internet.”

Stefani also offered her own subtle proof that everything is still solid between the two as 2026 began. Ringing in the new year, the “Hollaback Girl” shared a sweet video of herself and Shelton kissing on her Instagram Stories. “Last few hours of 2025,” she wrote over a clip showing the couple wearing festive hats and smiling together.

Shortly after, Stefani posted another video of herself gazing up at Shelton as he gently caressed her face before the two shared another kiss, a PDA-filled moment that appeared to directly contradict the divorce speculation.

Long before divorce rumors began circulating online, Shelton opened up about what keeps his marriage to Stefani strong, and his answer couldn’t have been simpler.

In an April 2024 interview with Access Hollywood, conducted inside his Ole Red venue and bar in Nashville, Shelton described Stefani as the foundation of his happiness. “She’s my best friend, that’s the best way I know to say it,” he confessed. “It’s not something that we really have to think about, it’s just there and we have fun with it. Maybe that’s the key, we have so much fun together.”

Despite their busy schedules and careers that often pull them in different directions, Shelton said fun has always been a priority in their relationship. “Whether having a cup of coffee in the morning, or watching a movie, or performing in an arena somewhere, you know, we literally have so much fun together,” Shelton said.

In April 2025, Stefani offered further insight into what keeps her marriage to Shelton on steady ground, revealing that their relationship includes a “third party,” though not in the way fans might assume. During an appearance on “The Drew Barrymore Show,” the former coach on “The Voice” shared advice she believes every couple should follow when it comes to long-term commitment.

Stefani explained that couples should “make sure you have a third party” in their relationship, a comment she made while pointing upward, signaling that she was referring to God, not another person.

While Stefani has been open about how difficult it was to consider a new relationship so soon after her divorce, there was never any denying her immediate attraction to Shelton. In 2015, Stefani candidly shared her thoughts while speaking with Ryan Seacrest.

“I think he’s hot, don’t you?” she asked at the time. “But to be super honest, it is kind of crazy we both went through the same thing at the same time. There’s been so many people that I’ve gotten so much comfort from. Just people coming to me and telling me their story. Not confiding, but sharing, which has just helped me see things from a different perspective and move forward.”

In the end, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are making it clear their marriage isn’t going anywhere, no matter what the internet says.
