Bella Hadid is speaking her mind about the latest Dolce & Gabbana fashion show!

The model did not hold back in calling out the fashion brand on social media. Although she has patronised the brand over the years, rocking their wears, she still declared a stance against their lack of inclusion.

This is not the first time Bella Hadid has thrown darts at prominent fashion brands. As one of the replies to her comment suggested, she usually puts her career on the line to advocate for some level of justice and integrity.

Hadid has rocked the fashion world with her comment on D&G’s latest fashion campaign. She commented on Instagram on a creator’s video who was criticising the brand for its lack of inclusion.

The French fashion commentator, namedElias Medini, but also known as Lyas, said the casting was “not normal,” calling it the “fifty shades of white” while showing the pictures of the model in the background. He noted that the brand did not include any Asians, Africans, Blondes, or Arabs.

A clip of the promotional video was featured, where the voice-over describes the brand unveiling the portrait of man’s menswear collection as the “singular identity of man.”

The supermodel’s scathing comment on the video read, “Shocked people actually support this company still, it’s embarrassing, Models/stylists/ casting, the whole damn thing.” Adding a second comment, she wrote, “Been cancelled … years of racism, sexism, bigotry, xenophobia … how are we shocked still?”

The 29-year-old’s comments have since drawn so much attention, gathering almost 50k likes and hundreds of replies. Some fans agreed with her notion that the show should have been cancelled.

Others praised her for speaking up, calling her brave and writing “queen,” “clock it,” along with clapping hands emojis. One fan gave Hadid her flowers, writing:

“OMG, the QUEEN that you are. JEOPARDIZING your incredible career over and over again to speak the TRUTH!”

Notably, not everyone agreed with the model. A user stated that Hadid couldn’t blame the models for trying to make a living. Some other online audience called her out, claiming she was two-faced as she wasn’t cancelling the casting director or her friends who support the brand.

In 2019, Hadid said that she “never felt powerful” at Paris’ Vogue Fashion Festival while modelling lingerie until she walked the New York Fashion Week catwalk in Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty collection the previous year. This raised eyebrows as she had walked the show effortlessly multiple times prior.

Two years ago, she came under backlash for featuring in Adidas’ campaign in honor of the 52nd anniversary of the Munich Olympics. People drew connections with the tragedy that occurred at the games and the brand’s campaign.

At the Munich Olympics, Palestinian terrorists from the militant group known as “Black September” broke into the Olympic Village, where they killed eleven members of the Israeli team as well as one German police officer.

Hadid has always been proud of her Palestinian heritage, so her participation in the campaign was tagged as triggering and insensitive. PEOPLE shared that the model and Adidas issued statements of apology, strongly affirming that it was not intentional.

The supermodel made an appearance last fall on the Victoria’s Secret runway, and it was notably different. In a viral video, she was seen struggling with the heavy wings attached to her outfit while trying to maintain her balance in heels.

She managed to keep it together, smiled, waved, and blew a kiss at the audience while walking to Tate McRae’s “Sports Car.”  Fans couldn’t help but notice that something was not right, calling out the model and show organisers for answers.

The Blast reported that Hadid later explained that things were tough on the runway that day as she got her period that morning and was still recuperating from her Lyme disease treatments.

Hadid struggles with Chronic Lyme disease and is open about the challenges she faces. She shared a series of treatments she has undergone to make it go away, yet she remains in an ongoing battle with the condition.

She was diagnosed in 2012 at the age of 16. Her mother, Yolanda Hadid, and brother, Anwar Hadid, also suffer from the same condition. Hadid opened up about the medical anxiety and mental health issues she has as a result of her condition, sharing how they weigh her down, bringing her to tears on some days.
