    The freshmen are alright.

On Saturday, BYU forward AJ Dybantsa, the potential No. 1 overall pick of the 2026 NBA Draft, was one of three freshmen to drop 40 points, joining Kingston Flemings and Keaton Wagler.

Below, we take a closer look at each.

AJ Dybantsa shows why he’s a possible No. 1 pick in 91-78 win over Utah

Dybantsa flashed his pro potential in the 13-point win over the Utes, finishing with a BYU freshman record 43 points on 15-of-24 shooting, including 4-of-5 from beyond the arc, and adding six rebounds and three assists.

He was a one-man show, attacking the rim, splitting defenders and sinking long-range shots with ease as Associated Press No. 13 BYU Cougars (17-2, 5-1) bounced back from an 84-71 loss at No. 12 Texas Tech in their previous game.
