Despite failed physical, Maxx Crosby trade interest exists

Less than 24 hours before the start of the new league year, an update on Maxx Crosby has sent shockwaves through the NFL.

The Baltimore Ravens reportedly backed out of the agreed-upon trade due to a failed physical.

That means Crosby is still a Raider, the Ravens have an additional $30 million in cap space and almost every move every team made as a product of Crosby’s sweepstakes may now be in peril.

However, it can all move pretty quickly again.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, “several” teams have called the Raiders about a potential Crosby trade. Although there is still trade interest, Schefter notes that the Raiders are “prepared to get Crosby healthy and have him play for Las Vegas” as they listen to offers.

The Dallas Cowboys would still want Maxx Crosby

According to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, the Cowboys would still have some interest in trading for the star pass-rusher:

“There are teams that are going to be interested in a Maxx Crosby trade, still, but there are a lot of things that they need to get answers on, starting with the medical,” Pelissero said.

“I would specifically say: The other team that was in it at the end is the Dallas Cowboys. I am told the Dallas Cowboys would still be interested in a Maxx Crosby trade,” he added.

The Cowboys were reportedly in the leading spot to trade for Crosby before the Ravens outbid them at the eleventh hour.

Now, Crosby’s value may have taken a hit because of the medical concerns, but Jerry Jones might still want to poach in and give them the two first-round picks they want just to outbid the competition.

Crosby recently underwent meniscus surgery to address a minor injury that shut him down for the final couple of games of the season, and while the details of the failed physical have yet to be disclosed, this might all be traced back to that.
