Hutchinson pumps brakes on Crosby-Lions trade speculation

It’s been months since Maxx Crosby last suited up, but he’s been one of the most talked-about players in the NFL for weeks now.

The Las Vegas Raiders star pass-rusher is reportedly ready to move on from his ever-struggling team. And while he has yet to confirm the reports about his desire to be traded, multiple teams will likely inquire about his availability. That’s not likely to be the case with the Detroit Lions, according to fellow star defensive end Aidan Hutchinson.

Aidan Hutchinson doesn’t see Lions trading for Maxx Crosby

“The idea of it is incredibly promising,” Hutchinson told Casino Guru. “That sounds like a dream scenario to be playing alongside a beast like that. I was answering the same questions last year about Myles Garrett, so I don’t know the reality of this situation and how real this actually is, especially given our GM — if you listen to him talk a little bit about edge rushers, I don’t know. It doesn’t sound like it’d be something they pursue.”

The Lions emerged as one of Crosby’s preferred trade destinations as soon as the report broke. He’s a Michigan native and had high praise for Dan Campbell last season, so they seemed to be a natural fit.

Then again, he’s expected to fetch a massive return, similar to the two first-round picks and one starting-caliber player the Dallas Cowboys got for Micah Parsons, and Lions GM Brad Holmes might not be willing to do so.

Even so, Crosby would also reportedly love to play for Mike Vrabel, and there should be no shortage of potential suitors if the Raiders agree to move on from him.
