The ‘A.L. hit leaders since 1995’ quiz

Before signing his three-year, $126 million contract with the New York Mets, he was expected to play at the 2026 World Baseball Classic for Brazil.

But after putting pen to paper and dealing with a knee injury that kept him out of most of the Blue Jays run to the World Series and agreeing to a deal with opt-outs after each season, Bichette has reportedly decided not to participate in the WBC.

Mets fans, who likely remember losing closer Edwin Diaz for the MLB season after celebrating during the 2023 tournament, are probably breathing a sigh of relief. The 27 year old, who will likely move from shortstop to third base for the Mets, is coming off a season where he hit .311 with 18 home runs and 94 RBI in 139 games. In the World Series against the Dodgers, he went 8-for-23 at the plate with six RBI and bashed a home run off of Shohei Ohtani in Game 7.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. Bichette has been a productive hitter for his entire seven-year career, hitting over .300 four times and leading the American League in hits in 2021 and 2022. With that being said, can you name the players to lead the A.L. in hits each season since 1995?

    Good luck!
