Jason Biggs has shared the reason he was forced to come clean about his notorious “American Pie” scene with his 11-year-old son, Sid.

The actor explained that his children kept hearing about the infamous scene from people and kept pestering him about what it was, adding that the conversation was an awkward one for Sid.

Jason Biggs previously revealed whether he would be returning for a reprisal in “American Pie 5” after past negotiations fell through.

For more than two decades now, Jason Biggs has been synonymous with his infamous “American Pie” scene where his character Jim is caught by his dad in a compromising position with a freshly baked pie.

That scene remained stuck in the memories of the cult classic’s fans, who apparently did not fail to bring it up occasionally, even with his children.

Now, Biggs is recounting the moment he had to open up to his son, Sid, about it, explaining that he even had to allow the preteen watch it.

“They kept hearing about ‘American Pie’ and pie and [asking], ‘Daddy, what do you do with the pie?’ and I had to have a conversation with my oldest,” the 47-year-old actor recalled in an episode of SiriusXM’s “The Julia Cunningham Show.”

“I actually showed him the scene. Jenny and I talked about this, and we were like, ‘We want to get ahead of this,'” he added, per The New York Post.

The “Wedding Daze” star seemingly didn’t care about the embarrassing nature of the scene and just wanted to be an honest parent to his son.

He shared that the film still comes up periodically and said once while he was in New York with his children, a guy “walked past us all and literally screamed out back to me, ‘Hey, it’s the pie f-cker,’ and I looked immediately at the boys.”

Biggs was, however, happy that his kids did not hear the person’s inappropriate remark.

Jason Biggs’ Chat With His Son About The ‘American Pie’ Scene Was His ‘Version Of A Sex Talk’

The incident in New York seemed to be part of the reason he had a chat with his son, who was already becoming aware of what sex is.

“It’s my version of a sex talk, right?” Biggs noted. “It’s like, how much do you want them to hear from friends and other people at school, and how much do you want to control the narrative, and it was literally happening with ‘American Pie.'”

“He guessed it, so in a way, I almost didn’t control the narrative,” he added, “but he wasn’t entirely sure. But I wanted to ask him first. I said, ‘What do you think happens?’ I was just curious, and he actually guessed correctly.”

Alongside Sid, Biggs is also father to eight-year-old son Lazio, whom he shares with wife Jenny Mollen.

The “Orange Is The New Black” alum went further to share that it was quite an awkward conversation he had with his son, but that seemingly didn’t stop him from having it.

“He was embarrassed to say it, very embarrassed, but I was like, ‘Okay. Let me show you. Let me show you what happened,’ and so I showed him the scene, and he laughed and laughed,” Biggs explained.

“He was a little uncomfortable for sure,” Biggs admitted. “He did say I was a good actor,” he added.

Jason Biggs Weighs In On Reprising His Role For ‘American Pie 5’

Back in September, Biggs weighed in on reprising his role for “American Pie 5” after negotiations came to a halt.

His former co-star Thomas Ian Nicholas revealed at the 2024 Rhode Island Comic Con that “they were negotiating for American Pie 5” as far back as the summer of 2021. However, they couldn’t “come to terms on negotiation.”

Weighing in on the reports, Biggs said there are “so many moving parts” for the film to come to fruition, but it doesn’t mean it’s impossible.

“It’s tricky,” he said. “I’ve heard various reasons for the holdup, and the most realistic of which is just that there are a lot of people that you have to get on board. Behind the scenes, as well. Especially behind the scenes.”

Biggs added, “But look, it’d be fun. I would love to do it. I know a lot of us would love to.”
