Tori Spelling’s Shocking Income Exposed In Divorce Drama

Newly filed court documents not only shed light on the former couple’s mounting financial troubles but also reveal startling details about Spelling’s income and McDermott’s debt struggles, painting a raw portrait of life after nearly two decades of marriage.

Dean McDermott is laying it all out as his divorce from Spelling presses forward.

According to an income and expense declaration filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on September 5 and obtained by Us Weekly, McDermott disclosed that his estranged wife’s income varies wildly.

The paperwork claims Spelling makes anywhere from “$3,000 to $75,000 per month, depending on the job.”

The report comes more than a year after Spelling officially filed for divorce in March 2024, ending their 18-year marriage.

While Spelling’s earning power remains significant thanks to her entertainment background, McDermott admitted in the same filing that his career has taken a dramatic turn.

Once a familiar face on Canadian television, McDermott acknowledged that “acting and producing work has decreased drastically” in recent years.

Pivoting into an entirely different field, he revealed he has been working as an alcohol and drug counselor since October 2023, earning just $3,800 per month, less than his reported monthly expenses of $3,980.

The court filing also unmasked the couple’s financial entanglements.

Dean McDermott’s attorneys noted he is drowning in overdue bills, including a $200,000 past-due loan with City National Bank, $2,500 in credit card debt with Capital One, and $12,000 in unpaid balances on Care Credit. To top it off, he owes $1,200 in dental procedure payments.

This financial turbulence comes as McDermott moves on romantically.

His filing revealed that his girlfriend, Lily Calo, earns just $600 per month. The pair went public in October 2023, only six months after McDermott and Spelling’s separation, when they were spotted holding hands in Los Angeles.

Despite the mounting money woes, McDermott’s most personal disclosures centered on fatherhood.

He confirmed custodial time with his youngest son, Beau, 8, while also sharing children Liam, 18, Stella, 17, Hattie, 13, and Finn, 13, with Spelling. He also shares a 25-year-old son, Jack, with his ex-wife, Mary Jo Eustace.

The financial revelations arrive against a backdrop of lingering heartbreak.

McDermott first shocked fans in June 2023 when he announced the end of his marriage in an emotional Instagram post.

“It’s with great sadness and a very very heavy heart that after 18 years together and 5 amazing children, that @torispelling and I have decided to go our separate ways and start a new journey of our own,” McDermott wrote in the now-deleted statement.

He added, “We will continue to work together as loving parents and guide and love our children through this difficult time. We ask that you all respect our privacy as we take this time to surround our family with love and work our way through this. Thank you all for your support and kindness.”

Tori Spelling responded formally in March 2024, filing for divorce and citing irreconcilable differences.

Her legal requests included spousal support, sole custody of their children, joint legal custody, and attorney fees.

McDermott countered by asking the court for spousal support himself, along with joint custody.

As the divorce proceedings unfold, the financial records underscore the couple’s longstanding struggles with money.

City National Bank has been pursuing repayment of a massive loan since 2016. The bank initially claimed $190,000 remained unpaid, but by June 2025, interest had inflated the figure to nearly $396,000.
