Todd Chrisley Threatened To Fight This Prominent Inmate In Prison

In a new episode of Savannah Chrisley‘s podcast, “Unlocked,” the reality star spoke with her parents, Todd and Julie, about the two years they spent in prison for their role in defrauding banks out of more than $30 million.

During the episode, the Chrisley family also revealed how Todd was almost transferred to a different prison after nearly coming to blows with a prominent inmate, Rick Singer, the mastermind behind the college admissions scandal.

Speaking with Savannah and Julie, Todd recalled that he initially bumped heads with Singer, who was also an inmate at Federal Prison Camp Pensacola in Florida, after Singer asked whether Todd had begun writing his book.

According to Todd, the conversation quickly soured, prompting him to call Singer a “snitch” and reference high-profile celebrities Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin, who were also indicted in the 2019 college admissions scandal.

“I said, ‘I don’t want to ever have another conversation with you.’ And so, he turned around and walked out,” Todd said.

But their confrontational run-ins with each other didn’t end there. As Todd continued, the “Chrisley Knows Best” alum revealed that things turned ugly when Singer began speaking negatively about his children.

Todd claimed that he and Singer got into it again months after their initial altercation because the latter was “talking sh-t about Savannah.”

While Todd and Julie were in prison from 2023 to 2025, Savannah had been extremely vocal about her parents’ incarceration, claiming they didn’t have a fair trial and were punished more harshly because of their status as celebrities.

“So he started talking smack,” Todd alleged. “And so I just walked up to him and I said, ‘I’m gonna say this one more time. I’m already in prison,'” he continued. “I said, ‘I will rip your head off and sh-t down your neck if you talk about my child again.'”

And that wasn’t all the 56-year-old had to say. He added, “And I meant what I said, and you know I would have done that. I was like, ‘I don’t need you to be afraid of me. Just be aware that if my daughter’s name comes out of your mouth again, I will rip your head off and sh-t down your neck.”

According to Todd, the pair “never had another problem” after that.

Aside from his issues with certain inmates, during previous interviews, Todd Chrisley was also outspoken about the terrible conditions he had to live in behind bars. At one point, he described Federal Prison Camp Pensacola as “disgustingly filthy.”

The father of five also accused the facility of deliberately underfeeding inmates, saying, “They are literally starving these men to death here.”

“These men are getting, I don’t know, but they’re getting a thousand calories a day,” he continued.

In another interview, Todd’s son, Chase Chrisley, also criticized the facility, revealing that his father was living with “black mold” while his mother was without air conditioning.

Although Todd and Julie were set to serve a combined 19-year sentence, they were pardoned by President Donald Trump in May 2025.

In a video shared online, President Trump called Savannah to inform her of the good news. In the clip, he also called their imprisonment a “terrible thing” before wishing their family well moving forward.

Savannah later praised the President in a post online, sharing how “grateful” she was to him and his administration for reuniting their family.
