Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) can be accused of many things. The rigorous application of intelligence is not among those things.

AOC claimed in a post on X that President Trump’s transition was more responsible for problems in the air traffic industry and even suggested his federal employee buyout – which has yet to be implemented – was a contributing factor in Wednesday night’s crash between a passenger plane and a military helicopter in the skies above Washington, D.C.

She even cast blame on her muse, Elon Musk.

Ocasio-Cortez’s comments were a response to a press conference held Thursday morning in which Trump suggested DEI practice over the last few decades led to conditions that contributed to the deadly crash.

“I represent LaGuardia Airport as well as workers for JFK. Trump gutted the Aviation Safety Committee last week,” the congresswoman angrily countered.

“Air traffic controllers – already understaffed – got Trump’s ‘buyout’ this week with a 1-week ultimatum to decide. It’s not DEI – it’s him. And Elon too.”

AOC Isn’t Smart Enough To Cast Blame For The Plane Crash

Isn’t that something? AOC just admitted that the buyout hasn’t even been implemented in a post, while simultaneously claiming it’s the reason for the crash.

The desperation in the midst of relentless Trump wins is really getting to them.

X viewers were quick to hammer the perpetually befuddled lawmaker over the comments.

“The buyout was for government employees who work at home,” one woman helpfully pointed out. “Air traffic controllers don’t work at home.”

Maybe in AOC’s mind, air traffic controllers can direct planes while telecommuting.

Political commentator Rogan O’Handley asked, “Why are you spreading disinformation?”

Popular X personality Catturd simply posted a GIF of Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz asking, “What would you do with a brain if you had one?”

    Perish the thought.

    Problems With The FAA

Most of the responses to AOC’s asinine post about the plane crash, however, focused on the many problems befalling the FAA before Trump arrived.

Several responses showed screenshots of the FAA’s diversity push that occurred prior to him taking office. Trump addressed that during a press conference on Thursday.

“The FAA is actively recruiting workers who suffer severe intellectual disabilities, psychiatric problems, and other mental and physical conditions under a diversity and inclusion hiring initiative spelled out on the agency’s website,” Trump said.

Hey clown, you want to explain your circus party? Why did democrats want to hire intellectually disabled and psychologically impaired people to work in the FAA?! Explain yourself democRat! pic.twitter.com/atgZWm2uP6

Others were quick to point out that former President Joe Biden nominated a man based solely on his skin color to head the FAA in 2022. Phillip Washington had zero experience for the position, as evidenced by this exchange with Sen. Ted Budd (R-NC).

DEI practices in action right there. Fortunately, Washington would eventually withdraw his name from consideration.

As even Snopes points out, the FAA has been actively recruiting people with “intellectual disabilities” for over a decade. Excuse me, but, why?

Meanwhile, FAA workers for years have been turned away based solely on their race as former Presidents Barack Obama and Biden focused more on diversity goals than competence.

    It all comes full circle.
