Layne Riggs nearly led Friday’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Indianapolis Raceway Park from wire to wire, leading 198 of 200 laps from the pole and sweeping the stages to secure his fifth win of the 2026 season.
The Truck Series points leader only lost the lead briefly to his Front Row Motorsports teammate, Chandler Smith, to begin Stage 2. Smith clinched a Chase berth with his performance on Friday.
Connor Mosack chopped Riggs’ lead under two seconds in the closing laps as Riggs worked his way through lapped traffic but was unable to get to Riggs, who cruised to victory.
The win is Riggs’ second straight at IRP and the 10th of his Truck Series career.
