Kyle Schwarber has been the best home-run hitter in Major League Baseball this season, and he continued that on Sunday by clubbing his 30th of the season for the Philadelphia Phillies in their 5-4 win over the New York Mets.
That 30-home-run mark not only leads the major leagues, it is five more than the next closest player.
It also set a Phillies record for the fastest to 30 home runs in a single season.

Schwarber’s 30th home run came in the Phillies’ 84th game of the season, which is faster than any player in franchise history ever reached that mark. Given that the franchise has had some big-time home run hitters, including Mike Schmidt and Ryan Howard, not to mention Schwarber himself, that is a massive accomplishment.
