The third Major championship of the 2026 PGA Tour is underway – despite an early first round hiccup thanks to fog – with the 126th U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club teeing off on Thursday morning.
After missing the cut at the PGA Championship in May, defending champion J.J. Spaun is taking a sixth-place and a T-12th-place finish into Southampton, New York. With plenty of chatter about the course heading into the tournament, Spaun shared what he expects from the event.
“It’s not going to be easy golf. It’s not going to be ho-hum, very boring golf,” he said.
