For the second straight week, Denny Hamlin came from last to first to win a NASCAR Cup Series race.

Hamlin had to start at the rear of the field after his team repaired damage on his car from Saturday’s practice session, but slowly got to the front of the field before solidifying his victory.

Hamlin passed Daniel Suarez and Carson Hocevar with a gutsy three-wide move for the lead with 38 laps to go and ran away from the pack, winning over 11 seconds.

The victory is the 63rd of Hamlin’s Cup Series career, tying him with the late Kyle Busch for ninth on NASCAR’s all-time wins list. Hamlin celebrated with a Busch flag hanging out of the driver’s side window.

    Notable results

Erik Jones, Bubba Wallace, Kyle Larson and Hocevar rounded out the top five, with Hocevar, Joey Logano, Ryan Blaney, Chris Buescher and Chase Briscoe completing the top 10.

Other notable finishers include Ross Chastain in 16th, William Byron in 18th, Ty Gibbs in 25th and points leader Tyler Reddick in 35th.

Sunday’s race featured a plethora of accidents, including a violent one on Lap 148 between Christopher Bell and Chase Elliott, both of whom were released from the infield care center.
