“Saturday Night Live” star Kam Patterson recently took a brutal swipe at Klay Thompson following his split from Megan Thee Stallion.
In a viral sketch about the breakup, Patterson made it clear he believes the rapper deserves better, declaring that he is “not Klay” before calling the NBA star “dirt.”
Megan and Thompson reportedly ended their relationship in April amid allegations that he was unfaithful. Since then, several celebrities have weighed in on the split, including Cardi B, who publicly showed support for the “Mamushee” rapper after Megan ended her run in “Moulin Rouge!” earlier than expected.

During the show’s “Weekend Update” segment, the sharp-tongued comedian pretended not to know who Thompson was until co-host Michael Che explained that he was a “world-famous pro basketball player.”
“Wait a minute, there’s a WNBA for men? What would you even call that? The MNBA? … To me, he’s not Klay, he’s dirt,” Patterson joked.
He then took the bit further, declaring, “What Meg Thee Stallion needs is a real man.”
When Che asked what makes a “real man,” Patterson appeared to describe himself, saying it is someone “probably employed in a thriving industry,” such as “entertainment,” and working on a “sketch television show.”

Patterson’s comment drew cheers from the audience, but Che told them not to “encourage” it: “That’s just you, Kam.”
“I guess that does kind of sound like me,” Patterson continued, before jokingly insisting that he didn’t know who Thompson, “a four-time NBA champion and second greatest shooter of all time,” was.
He then addressed the rapper directly, saying, “Megan, if you’re watching, let me talk to you directly,” he said, leaning forward to face the camera as seductive music played in the background.
“Am I the man you want? Probably not. But am I the man you need? Also no,” he said, adding, “But you’ve already had the best baby, so why not try the rest?”

Following Patterson’s sketch, several fans took to social media to share their reactions, with many siding with Megan and dragging Thompson over the breakup.
“The media is really not going to let Klay live this down, is it? Oh well. Serves him right for cheating on Megan,” one Reddit user wrote.
Others weighed in on the fame gap between the rapper and the NBA star.
“Their levels of fame also make it easy. Klay is NBA famous, meaning he’s mostly known in the U.S. and in a niche pocket in other countries,” another person wrote. “Meg is worldwide famous. In comparison, dude was already punching way above his weight.”

Megan and Thompson first sparked romance rumors in July 2025 after the “Caption Hook” rapper shared a steamy Instagram photo that eagle-eyed fans believed featured the NBA star in the background.
The pair soon began stepping out together and made their red-carpet debut later that month at her inaugural Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala in New York City.
However, they reportedly called time on their romance in April amid allegations that the four-time NBA champion was unfaithful.
“Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house… got ‘cold feet,’” Megan wrote online. “Holding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season, now you don’t know if you can be ‘monogamous????’”

Following her split from Thompson, Megan Thee Stallion made the surprising decision to end her run in the Broadway musical “Moulin Rouge!” earlier than expected.
She received support from fellow rapper Cardi B, who attended her final show and praised her performance.
“I went to see Meg at Broadway, it was so, so, so good,” Cardi said, according to Complex. “Megan looked amazing, and she did amazing.”
Megan’s departure from the production came after she was seen crying on stage shortly after announcing her split from Thompson. Before the emotional moment, however, she had spoken proudly about stepping out of her comfort zone and trying something new.
