Happy 48th birthday to five-time Pro Bowler, two-time Super Bowl champion and 2008 AP Defensive Player of the Year, James Harrison!

After playing his college football at Kent State, Harrison joined the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent ahead of the 2002 season. After bouncing around between the active roster and practice squad as a rookie, he carved himself out a role in his second campaign.

In the 2005 campaign he appeared in every regular season and playoff game for a team led by a young Ben Roethlisberger that won Super Bowl XL against Seattle. He had a breakout season in 2007, making his first Pro Bowl and earning Second-Team All-Pro honors. He recorded 8.5 sacks and forced an NFL-high seven fumbles. In 2008 he recorded a career-high 16.0 sacks en route to his lone Defensive Player of the Year award. He also famously had a 100-yard pick-six off Kurt Warner in the Super Bowl XLIII victory.

Harrison played until 2017, spending all but a season and change of his 15-year career with the Steelers. He’s still third all-time in Steelers history with 80.5 sacks in the Steel City and third in quarterback hits with 142.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. How many of the players to be named AP Defensive Player of the Year can you name in six minutes?

    Good luck!
