After looking like a team that stood little chance against the Boston Celtics in a lackluster Game 1 performance on Sunday, the Philadelphia 76ers evened the series at one game apiece on Tuesday.

The 111-97 win was all made possible by rookie VJ Edgecombe‘s heroics. He had a team-high 30 points (12-of-20 FG, 6-of-10 3PT) and 10 rebounds as Philadelphia closed the game on a 20-8 run to turn a two-point lead with under six minutes remaining into a 14-point win.

Guard Tyrese Maxey added 29 points (11-of-28 FG, 5-of-12 3PT) and nine assists, but Edgecombe continues to thrive in his first postseason run. Look no further than the play-in win over the Orlando Magic when he played like an experienced veteran in Joel Embiid’s absence.

VJ Edgecombe goes off in shocking Game 2 win for 76ers

According to the NBA‘s X account, Edgecombe is the youngest player in league history with at least 30 points and 10 rebounds in a postseason game.
